Homologous Artificial Insemination and Oligospermia
Fertility and Sterility, 1976Of approximately 339 patients evaluated at a private infertility service over a 5-year period, 24 couples underwent homologous artificial insemination (AIH). Nineteen of these were performed to circumvent the problem of oligospermia, and only one pregancy was achieved in this group; conceivably this pregnancy could have occurred by chance.

Psoriasis, Methotrexate, and Oligospermia
Archives of Dermatology, 1980• A young man with severe psoriasis was treated intermittently with methotrexate. On two different occasions, severe oligospermia documented by serial seminal fluid analyses was present coincident with methotrexate administration. Discontinuation of methotrexate resulted in normal sperm concentration.

Bacteriospermia: An Etiology of Oligospermia
Journal of Applied Health Sciences and Medicine, 2023Semen analysis is known to be important in determining male fertility and also in assessing infertility in men. Both primary and secondary infertility in male have various causes. One very important part of altered semen profile is the quantity of semen ejaculated and the quality of sperm cells in the ejaculate. Oligospermia is the most common cause of

Idiopathic oligospermia and peripheral androgen metabolism
Fertility and Sterility, 19863 alpha, 17 beta-Androstanediol glucuronide (3 alpha-diol G), a marker of peripheral androgen action, known to be decreased in states of androgen insensitivity, was measured along with testosterone (T) and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in both serum and seminal plasma of men with idiopathic oligospermia (IO).

Immunological studies in patients with oligospermia
Fertility and Sterility, 1989Report of the study of the T-lymphocytes subsets, the serum autoantibodies and immune complex levels in 20 infertile men with idiopathic oligospermia to determine wether they are different from normal fertile ...

Azulfidine-induced oligospermia.
The American journal of gastroenterology, 1981A patient with Crohn's ileitis was treated with azulfidine (4 gm./day) for 18 months. During the treatment period he was infertile with quantitative and qualitative abnormalities of his spermatozoa. Upon termination of the azulfidine, his semen analysis became normal and his wife subsequently became pregnant.

Effect of clomiphene citrate on oligospermia
American Journal of Obstetrics and Gynecology, 1967Abstract Clomiphene is thought to have an antiestrogenic effect and to enhance the release of gonadotropins from the pituitary. For these reasons, it was administered to 15 oligospermic infertile males that exhibited varying testicular derangements on biopsy to correlate any response with a particular histologic picture.

Leydig Cell Function in Idiopathic Oligospermia
Fertility and Sterility, 1980To assess Leydig cell function in men with idiopathic oligospermia, serum levels of testosterone and 17-hydroxyprogesterone were measured before and after the administration of human chorionic gonadotopin (hCG) to men with oligospermia (< 20 x 10(6) sperm/ml). Serum testosterone and 17-hydroxyprogesterone levels, both basally and after 2 or 72 hours of

Infertility Related to Oligospermia
Fertility and Sterility, 1976In answer to the question of whether pooling and storing the 1st portions of split ejaculate in performing artificial insemination with oligospermatic males will increase the likelihood of achieving conception it is suggested that to date evidence of an improvement is absent. In fact the freezing of sperm samples of men suffering oligospermia reduces

Levamisole treatment of oligospermia.
Acta medica Iugoslavica, 1991On the basis of elevated levels of seminal plasma immunoglobulins and a decreased production of LMI in the presence of PPD, 6 patients (out of the idiopathic normogonadotrophic oligospermic group) were selected for a therapeutic trial with levamisole. The following regime of treatment was applied: 3 days on levamisole (150 mg per day) followed by a 10 ...
