Olive integrated pest management in the County of Split-Dalmatia

Researches were carried out during two-year period of February, 2000 – February, 2002 as projected, in selected olive groves of Split-Dalmatian County. Economic importance of Phloeotribus scarabeoides has been on the increase in the last few years. Control of the olive bark beetle (P. scarabeoides) was performed by woody cutting bundle using trap.

Abstract Data are presented for field and laboratory experiments carried out to estimate the loss of fruitsetting in olives, attributed to the heteropterous bug Calocoris trivialis (Costa), a species listed as a pest of olives in the literature. Adults and larvae may pierce citrus and olive flowers which do not then develop further.
