Bioenergetic trophic trade‐offs determine mass‐dependent extinction thresholds across the Cenozoic
Abstract Body size constrains trophic interactions, shaping the feasibility of species' populations. Over macroevolutionary timescales, these constraints feed back to shape selection on body size and diet. We develop a bioenergetic, three‐level trophic framework—typical of terrestrial mammalian ecosystems—to explore how bioenergetic trade‐offs emerging

Indifferent or Attractive? An Exploratory Kano Model Application to Cultivated Meat Products
This study applies the Kano model to explore how consumers perceive attributes of cultivated burgers and foie gras. Lower price and higher protein are seen as attractive, while most other features are indifferent. No must‐be attributes are found, indicating that consumer expectations for cultivated meat are still forming. ABSTRACT Cultivated meat is an

Contrasting effects of temperature across trophic levels in geothermally warmed soil food webs
Global warming is altering the structure and dynamics of ecological communities, with significant consequences for soil food webs. Rising temperatures are expected to accelerate metabolic rates in organisms, potentially altering species interactions, and the structure and energetics of food webs.

Abstract The expansion and intensification of human activities have increased interactions between people and wildlife. Interactions involving bears and other large carnivores are complex and can lead to conflicts. Promoting positive coexistence requires managing information, which is not always available.

This study found that over 10% of wild birds in Lahore, Pakistan, carry antibodies for Toxoplasma gondii, a parasite that can cause serious illness in humans and animals. Birds like lapwings and silver bills showed especially high antibody rates. Improved monitoring is needed to better understand risk dynamics in Pakistan.

The Demand for Theatre. A Microeconomic Approach to the Italian Case [PDF]
This paper examines theatre participation in Italy over the period 1995–2006. Explanatory variables are determined by identifying their contributions to both the individual’s decision to attend, and the frequency of attendance.
