Receptogenesis in a Vascularized Robotic Embodiment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Functional augmentation of situated robots via ex novo hardware generation extends physical adaptability. Drawing inspiration from open circulatory systems for mass and function redistribution, this study presents a vascularized robotic composite exhibiting receptogenesis ‐ the on‐demand construction of sensors ‐ from internal fluid reserves based on ...

Design of Deep Learning-Based 1-bit Transceiver With Oversampling and Faster-Than-Nyquist (FTN) Signaling

open access: yesIEEE Access
The adoption of one-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) in wireless communication has become increasingly popular, owing to their potential to reduce power consumption. However, there is a decreased spectral efficiency (SE) associated with their use,

A Robotic Testing Platform for Pipelined Discovery of Resilient Dielectric Elastomer Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces a robotic testing platform enabling high‐throughput, multi‐parameter lifetime mapping of linear dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs). By integrating programmable high‐voltage control and automated electromechanical measurements, the system identifies material and operating conditions that double actuator lifetime.

Quantization Design and Channel Estimation for Massive MIMO Systems with One-Bit ADCs

open access: yesCoRR, 2017
We consider the problem of channel estimation for uplink multiuser massive MIMO systems, where, in order to significantly reduce the hardware cost and power consumption, one-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) are used at the base station (BS) to quantize the received signal. Channel estimation for one-bit massive MIMO systems is challenging due to

From Sensing Mechanisms to System Co‐Design: Graphene‐Based Sensors and Readout Circuits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review establishes a unified PS–EQ–RF framework linking graphene sensing mechanisms, native electrical outputs, and output‐specific readout circuits. Voltage‐, current‐, resistance‐, and capacitance‐type sensing systems are systematically classified to guide architecture selection, low‐noise design, system co‐design, and practical integration ...

The Front-End Readout as an Encoder IC for Magneto-Resistive Linear Scale Sensors

open access: yesSensors, 2016
This study proposes a front-end readout circuit as an encoder chip for magneto-resistance (MR) linear scales. A typical MR sensor consists of two major parts: one is its base structure, also called the magnetic scale, which is embedded with multiple grid
