Nanoparticle One‐Dimensional Photonic‐Crystal Dye Laser

Small, 2009
The stimulated emission from an organic dye adsorbed within the void network of a NP 1D (photonic crystals) PC, was studied. The nanoparticle one-dimensional photonic crystals (NP 1DPCs) were assembled by polyelectrolyte-assisted layer-by-layer deposition with subsequent calcination of the films to remove the polymer components. Each layer was prepared

Magnetically Tunable One-Dimensional Plasmonic Photonic Crystals

Nano Letters, 2023
Integrating plasmonic resonance into photonic bandgap nanostructures promises additional control over their optical properties. Here, one-dimensional (1D) plasmonic photonic crystals with angular-dependent structural colors are fabricated by assembling magnetoplasmonic colloidal nanoparticles under an external magnetic field.

One-dimensional photonic crystal design

Journal of Quantitative Spectroscopy and Radiative Transfer, 2010
In this article we present a method to determine the band spectrum, band gaps, and discrete energy levels, of a one-dimensional photonic crystal with localized impurities. For one-dimensional crystals with piecewise constant refractive indices we develop an algorithm to recover the refractive index distribution from the period map.

Resonantly absorbing one-dimensional photonic crystals

Physical Review E, 2005
A compact theoretical description of the effects of dissipation on the propagation of light waves through a multilayer periodic mirror built from resonant absorbing atoms is presented. Depending on the lattice periodicity, ultranarrow photonic gaps, weak polaritonic gaps, as well as rather atypical gap structures may be observed.

Alcohol-Infiltrated One-Dimensional Photonic Crystals

2011
In this work, experimental results on the optical characterization of alcohol-infiltrated silicon/air one-dimensional photonic crystals (1D-PhCs), fabricated by electrochemical micromachining of silicon, are presented and compared with theoretical predictions. Infiltration of alcohols into 1D-PhCs produces reliable changes (redshift and increase of the

Spontaneous emission in one-dimensional photonic crystals

Physical Review E, 2005
We study the spontaneous emission of an atom embedded in a one-dimensional photonic crystal or superlattice using a classical electrodynamic theory of radiation. The rate of emission is a function of the frequency of the emitted photon, the dipole's position and orientation, as well as the geometric and material parameters of the superlattice.
