Deposit Limit Prompt in Online Gambling for Reducing Gambling Intensity: A Randomized Controlled Trial [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2019
Pre-commitment tools - allowing users of gambling services to pre-set a limit for how much money they may spend - are relatively common. However, there exist no clear evidence of their effectiveness in preventing gamblers from spending more money than they otherwise planned.

Adaptive Control of Run‐and‐Tumble Escape in Pursuit‐Evasion Dynamics of Intelligent Active Particles

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
The pursuit‐evasion game is studied for two adversarial active agents, modeled as deterministic self‐steering pursuer and stochastic, cognitive evader. For a successful evasion strategy, the motile target has to exploit all available pursuer information, e.g., by tuning the tumbling frequency with the pursuer distance.

A Novel Milli‐Scale Magnetic Robot Exploiting Rotation for Controlled Magnetic Particles Release

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Delivering magnetic particles can become a game changer in minimally invasive medicine. To cope with this challenge, a magnetically actuated milli‐scale carrier leveraging rotation to perform on‐demand tunable release of magnetic particles across multiple release events is presented.

Data‐Driven Review and Machine Learning Prediction of Diamond Vacancy Center Synthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
A machine learning framework is applied to photoluminescence spectra to extract linewidths and uncover how NV, SiV, GeV, and SnV centers evolve with growth and processing conditions. Unified normalization and k‐fold validation reveal cross‐method trends and enable rapid prediction of defect size and fabrication parameters, offering a data‐driven route ...

MusicSwarm: Biologically Inspired Intelligence for Music Composition

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Biologically inspired swarms of frozen foundation models self‐organize to compose complex music without fine‐tuning. By coordinating through stigmergic signals, decentralized agents dynamically evolve specialized roles and adapt to solve complex tasks.
