A multi-strategy ontology mapping method based on cost-sensitive SVM

open access: yesJournal of Cloud Computing: Advances, Systems and Applications
As the core of ontology integration, the task of ontology mapping is to find the semantic relationship between ontologies. Nevertheless, most existing ontology mapping methods only rely ontext information to calculate entity similarity, thereby ...

Domain XML semantic integration based on extraction rules and ontology mapping

open access: yesJournal of Hebei University of Science and Technology, 2016
A plenty of XML documents exist in petroleum engineering field, but traditional XML integration solution can’t provide semantic query, which leads to low data use efficiency.

Demo: A community based approach for managing ontology alignments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The Semantic Web is rapidly becoming a defacto distributed repository for semantically represented data, thus leveraging on the added on value of the network effect.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Toward an ontology of collaborative learning healthcare systems

open access: yesLearning Health Systems, 2022
Objective To establish a basis for a domain ontology ‐ a formal, explicit specification of a shared conceptualization ‐ of collaborative learning healthcare systems (CLHSs) in order to facilitate measurement, explanation, and improvement.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Ontological quality control in large-scale, applied ontology matching [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
To date, large-scale applied ontology mapping has relied greatly on label matching and other relatively simple syntactic features. In search of more holistic and accurate alignment, we offer a suite of partially overlapping ontology mapping heuristics ...

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve
