Resonators in Open-Loop Sigma–Delta Modulators

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers, 2009
In this paper, we introduce the modulo resonator for use in analog-to-digital open-loop sigma-delta modulators (OLSDMs). The OLSDM presented in this paper is intended for use in high-accuracy (14-bit) high-speed analog-to-digital converters. The modulo resonator is used with a modulo notch filter to insert a zero in the noise transfer function at a ...

An investigation on resonance characteristics of CPS open-loop resonator

APMC 2001. 2001 Asia-Pacific Microwave Conference (Cat. No.01TH8577), 2002
A novel coplanar stripline (CPS) open-loop resonator (OLR) is proposed for maximum miniaturization in uniplanar microwave applications. The effect of variation in the width of longer strips of OLRs formed in two ways (namely, CPS fixed gap and CPS variable gap structures) on their resonance characteristics is discussed.

Open-Loop Resonance-Cancellation Control for a Base-Excited Pendulum

Journal of Vibration and Control, 2001
A new open-loop control strategy applied to a planar pendulum subjected to the most severe com bination of base excitations, horizontal motion at the primary-resonance frequency, and vertical motion at the principal-parametric resonance frequency is developed.

Microstrip Open-Loop Resonator With Multispurious Suppression

IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters, 2007
A compact open-loop resonator with multispurious suppression is proposed. When excited symmetrically, the resonator shows two tunable transmission zeros. By adjusting the open-end gap capacitance, one of the zeros is placed near the passband and the other is tuned to collocate with the leading two degenerated higher order resonances, so that the ...

Performance analysis of an open-loop resonator loaded terahertz microstrip antenna

Microelectronics Journal, 2011
In this paper, an enhanced electrical performance of the open-loop loaded microstrip patch antenna at terahertz frequency has been investigated. The proposed antenna is designed to radiate at frequencies in the range of 0.5-0.7THz with high gain and radiation efficiency.

The Effect of the Loop Strip Width of CPW Open-Loop Resonator on Its Resonance Characteristics

30th European Microwave Conference, 2000, 2000
A novel coplanar waveguide (CPW) open-loop resonator (OLR) is proposed for maximum miniaturization in uniplanar microwave applications. The effect of variation in the one's width of longer strips of OLR formed in two ways (namely, CPW fixed gap (FG) and CPW variable gap (VG) OLR) on their resonance characteristics is discussed.

Microstrip slow-wave open-loop resonator filters

1997 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest, 2002
Microstrip slow-wave open-loop resonators allow various filter configurations including those of elliptic or quasi-elliptic function response to be realised. The filters are not only compact in size due to the slow-wave effect, but also have a wider upper stopband resulting from the dispersion effects. These attractive features mean the microstrip slow-

Dielectric Permittivity Sensor Based on Planar Open-Loop Resonator

IEEE Sensors Letters, 2021
Accurate characterization of the dielectric properties of solids and, especially, substrates is crucial for circuitry design and development. For applications requiring low cost, wieldy systems, many attempts have been made involving planar resonant microwave devices.

A dual‐passband microstrip open‐loop resonator filter

Microwave and Optical Technology Letters, 2005
AbstractIn this paper, a design technique that includes a synthesis procedure and a realization method for a microstrip open‐loop resonator filter with two passbands is described. Transmission zeros of the filter‐transfer function are employed to split a single passband into two passbands, and the filter‐coupling structure used to realize two passbands

Open-loop experiments of resonator micro-optic gyro

Optoelectronics Letters, 2009
An open-loop resonator micro-optic gyro (R-MOG) with a 6 cm-long waveguide-type ring resonator is set up using the phase modulation spectroscopy technique. In the experiment, according to the test parameters of the resonator, the shot-noise-limited sensitivity is estimated to be 1.07×10−4 rad/s. From the test demodulation signal, the gyro dynamic range
