Chipless RFID tag based on open-loop resonator

A novel RFID tag employing open-loop resonators is presented in this paper. The resonators have been synthesized using coupled microstrip transmission line. The complete design consists of open-loop resonators based tag, and cross polarized circular patch antenna for transmitting and receiving purpose.

A simple, compact, planar open loop multi-resonator for chipless RFID tag with high quality factor is presented. It is a spectral signature based chipless RFID transponder. It consists of a set of cascaded open loop resonators. The prototype fabricated on a substrate of dielectric constant 3.7 and thickness 1.6mm is having an overall dimension of 28×13.

AbstractDesign of a compact microstrip band reject filter is proposed. The device consists of an Open Loop Rectangular Resonator (OLRR) coupled to a microstrip line. The transmission line has a U‐bend which enhances the coupling with the OLRR element and reduces the size of the filter.
