High Reynolds Channel Flows: Upstream interaction of various wall deformations [PDF]
The flow at high Reynolds number in the entrance of distorted channel is considered. We analyse the anticipated fluid responds to a downstream wall distortion, and we find that the non linear upstream length $\Delta={\mbox{O}}(R_e^{1/7})$, using either ...

Direct simulation Monte Carlo method for gas flows in micro-channels with bends with added curvature
Gas flows in micro-channels are simulated using an open source Direct Simulation Monte Carlo (DSMC) code dsmcFOAM for general application to rarefied gas flow written within the framework of the open source C++ toolbox called OpenFOAM.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Measurement of turbulent flow in a narrow open channel
The paper presents the experimental results of turbulent flow over hydraulically smooth and rough beds. Experiments were conducted in a rectangular flume under the aspect ratio b/h = 2 (b = width of the channel 0.5 m, and h = flow depth 0.25 m) for both ...

Experimental study of open channel flow in a bend
Measurement of open-channel-flow in a bend was made by using particle image velocimetry to get instantaneous two-dimensional velocity data based on which the mean,three-dimensional flow fields were reconstructed. The results show the main flow deviates to

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Single-channel behavior of heteromeric α1β glycine receptors: an attempt to detect a conformational change before the channel opens [PDF]
The α1β heteromeric receptors are likely to be the predominant synaptic form of glycine receptors in the adult. Their activation mechanism was investigated by fitting putative mechanisms to single-channel recordings obtained at four glycine ...

Hydrodynamic shadowing effect during precipitation of dendrites in channel flow [PDF]
A supersaturated fluid flowing over a reactive, rough surface leads to complex precipitation patterns. We study the growth and interaction between discrete precipitates along a reactive wall in a nonlaminar channel flow.

Design of Mine-used Ultrasonic Open-channel Flowmeter
In view of problem that open-channel flowmeter ca't work normally because mine water contains impurities of coal powder and sediment which deposit on surface of probe of open-channel flowmeter, a mine-used ultrasonic open-channel flowmeter based on M-Bus

Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.
