A CATALOG OF 120 NGC OPEN STAR CLUSTERS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of The Korean Astronomical Society, 2011
A sample of 145 JHK--2MASS observations of NGC open star clusters is studied, of which 132 have never been studied before. Twelve are classified as non-open clusters and 13 are re-estimated self-consistently, after applying the same methods in order to compare and calibrate our reduction procedures.

From mice to humans—divergent strategies for intestinal homeostasis and regeneration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Recent advances such as organoid genome editing, xenotransplantation, imaging, and whole‐genome sequencing have enabled direct studies of human intestinal stem cells (ISCs). These studies reveal species‐specific features, including slower ISC proliferation, distinct injury responses, slower somatic mutation accumulation in humans, and an inverse ...

Revisit of 77 Clusters Candidates with Multiple Main Sequences using Gaia DR3

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
Gaia DR3 data provide the latest and full astrometric data for more than 1.5 billion sources, and these allow us to revisit the 77 special open cluster candidates collected from LISC star cluster catalog.

Phosphoinositides and inositol phosphates as molecular glues

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol phosphates (IPs) and phosphoinositides (PIPs) regulate diverse eukaryotic processes. Beyond recruiting signaling proteins or acting as structural cofactors, recent studies suggest they mediate protein–protein interactions as natural molecular glues.

PSR J1922+37: a 1.9 s Pulsar Discovered in the Direction of the Old Open Cluster NGC 6791

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
More than 300 pulsars have been discovered in Galactic globular clusters; however, none have been found in open clusters. Here we present results from a 20 hr survey of seven open clusters with the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope ...

Flare Stars as Age Indicators in Open Clusters [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1990
A new set of isochrones derived from overshooting evolutionary models, allows one to give a homogeneous age determination for open clusters with solar chemical composition and in a range of age 4 107 ÷ 1.5 109 yr. In this context is derived an empirical new age calibration - absolute magnitude of the supposed brightest flare star in a cluster versus ...

PARK(ing) time–How park deficiency affects the biological clock in a Drosophila model of Parkinson's disease

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Drosophila park mutants serve as a model for Parkinson's disease. We used this strain to investigate the connection between oxidative stress and the circadian clock mechanism. We showed that increased oxidative stress affects the physiology of pacemaker cells, disrupting their daily structural plasticity. Lack of rhythmic signaling from pacemaker cells

Revisiting Open Clusters within 200 pc in the Solar Neighborhood with Gaia DR3

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
In this study, we develop a membership identification method and apply it for 30 open clusters (OCs) within 200 pc of the Sun using astrometric data of Gaia DR3.

Evolved stars in open clusters.

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series, 1976
radial-velocity observations and MK classifications have been used to study evolved stars in 25 open clusters. Published data on stars in 72 additional clusters are rediscussed and combined with the observations made in this investigation to yield positions in the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram for 559 evolved stars in 97 clusters.
