The Most Exigent Eigenvalue: Guaranteeing Consensus under an Unknown Communication Topology and Time Delays

open access: yes, 2015
This document aims to answer the question of what is the minimum delay value that guarantees convergence to consensus for a group of second order agents operating under different protocols, provided that the communication topology is connected but ...

Equivalence of boundary eigenvalue operator functions and their characteristic matrix functions

open access: yesMathematische Annalen, 1987
Let \(E,G,F_ 1,F_ 2\) be Banach spaces and \(T^ D\in L(E,F_ 1)\), \(T^ R\in L(E,F_ 2)\) and \(Z\in L(G,E)\). Set \(F:=F_ 1\times F_ 2\) and \(T:=(T^ D,T^ R)\). Assume that \(T^ D\) is right invertible, Z is injective and \(N(T^ D)=R(Z)\). Then T is equivalent to a simple extension of its ''characteristic'' matrix \(M:=T^ RZ\).

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Long-term efficacy of house dust mite sublingual immunotherapy on clinical and pulmonary function in patients with asthma and allergic rhinitis

open access: yesJournal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology: Global
Background: A previous study reported that house dust mite (HDM) sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) for 48 weeks was effective as add-on treatment for allergic asthma; however, data regarding its long-term efficacy are scarce.
