Aggregation operators based on indistinguishability operators

open access: yesInternational Journal of Intelligent Systems, 2006
This article gives a new approach to aggregating assuming that there is an indistinguishability operator or similarity defined on the universe of discourse. The very simple idea is that when we want to aggregate two values a and b we are looking for a value l that is as similar to a as to b or, in a more logical language, the degrees of equivalence of ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

On Integral Operators with Operator-Valued Kernels [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2010
Here Lq-Lp boundedness of integral operator with operator-valued kernels is studied and the main result is applied to convolution operators. Using these results Besov space regularity for Fourier multiplier operator is established.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Foot force characteristics when using foot-controlled isometric device and operating method based on them

open access: yesMechanical Engineering Journal
The range of motion of the human lower limbs is comparable to that of the upper limbs, which suggests the feasibility of controlling a device with multiple degrees of freedom using the lower limbs.

Multi-stage Sensitivity Analysis of Distributed Energy Systems: A Variance-based Sobol Method

open access: yesJournal of Modern Power Systems and Clean Energy, 2020
In the face of the pressing environmental issues, the past decade witnessed the booming development of the distributed energy systems (DESs). A notable problem of DESs is the inevitable uncertainty that may make DESs deviate significantly from the ...

Introduction to Nuclear Propulsion: Lecture 15 - Nuclear Test Operations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1963
The test operation of nuclear power plants, specifically nuclear rockets, bears some interesting similarities to the operation of chemical rocket tests as well as, of course, many differences.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.
