Impact of Radiation Therapy on Physical and Psychosocial Health of Adolescents and Young Adults: A Joint Report From the Children's Oncology Group AYA and Radiation Oncology Committees

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Rates of cancer among adolescents and young adults (AYA), age 15–39 years, are increasing. Consequently, radiation oncologists are treating more AYAs who have diagnoses spanning both pediatric and adult practices. Compared to pediatric and older adult patients, AYAs face a unique set of challenges.

The Real‐Time Advanced Ionospheric Data Assimilation (AIDA) Model

open access: yesSpace Weather
The Advanced Ionospheric Data Assimilation (AIDA) is a real‐time data assimilation model of global 3D ionosphere and plasmasphere electron density. Changes in the local space environment can occur on very short timescales, particularly during disturbed ...

Machine Vision and Encoded Behaviour in Harun Farocki's Later Work

open access: yesFilm-Philosophy, 2023
Harun Farocki's films make use of a category of images the director calls “operational”, a term describing images, either photographic or computer-generated, that perform or participate in tasks, usually in military or industrial settings.

Social Functioning Within the First Years After Pediatric Brain Tumor Diagnosis and the Relationship With Family Psychosocial Risk

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Survivors of pediatric brain tumors (PBTs) can experience long‐term social difficulties, impacting quality of life. Beyond medical and environmental factors, family psychosocial risk may play a role in social outcomes by shaping the caregiving environment and may provide intervention options.

Operational modal analysis of low frequency surface waves in Lakes and reservoirs

open access: yes, 2019
Wind driven oscillations of water surfaces (surface seiches) are a key driver of ecological fluxes, such as of oxygen and nutrients, within lakes and reservoirs.

Retrospective Analysis of Donor Lymphocyte Infusions in Pediatric Patients With Mixed Chimerism After Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (alloHSCT) is an essential therapy for several malignant and nonmalignant diseases, but relapse and graft loss remain the principal threats to its success. Routine monitoring of chimerism and minimal residual disease (MRD) enables early detection of imminent recurrence and guides ...

Operators Approximable by Hypercyclic Operators [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Proceedings of the Royal Irish Academy, 2015
We show that operators on a separable infinite dimensional Banach space $X$ of the form $I +S$, where $S$ is an operator with dense generalised kernel, must lie in the norm closure of the hypercyclic operators on $X$, in fact in the closure of the mixing operators.

Pediatric Idiopathic Multicentric Castleman Disease Is Often Severe But Responsive to Siltuximab

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) is a potentially fatal immunologic disorder marked by widespread lymphadenopathy and inflammation. Siltuximab, an interleukin‐6 (IL‐6) inhibitor, is the only FDA‐approved treatment for adult patients with iMCD.

Operator Symbols and Operator Indices [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, 2019
We suggest a certain variant of symbolic calculus for special classes of linear bounded operators acting in Banach spaces. According to the calculus we formulate an index theorem and give applications to elliptic pseudo-differential operators on smooth manifolds with non-smooth boundaries.

On an integral operator [PDF]

open access: yesApplied Mathematics Letters, 2010
Abstract In this paper we define a general integral operator for analytic functions in the open unit disk and we determine some conditions for univalence of this integral operator.
