Reconstruction of a time-dependent wave source and the initial condition in a hyperbolic equation

open access: yesKuwait Journal of Science
This article is concerned with determination of a time-dependent wave source together with the initial condition in a hyperbolic equation. Based on the given data including the flux tensions of a string at end points and a nonlocal integral observation ...

On the Significance of the Quantum Mechanical Covariance Matrix

open access: yes, 2018
The characterization of quantum correlations, being stronger than classical, yet weaker than those appearing in non-signaling models, still poses many riddles.

Universal -matrix as integral operator [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2001
We derive the integral operator form for the general rational solution of the Yang-Baxter equation with $s\ell(2|1)$ symmetry. Considering the defining relations for the kernel of the R-operator as a system of second order differential equations we observe remarkable reduction to a system of simple first order equations.

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Gyroaveraging operations using adaptive matrix operators [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics of Plasmas, 2018
A new adaptive scheme to be used in particle-in-cell codes for carrying out gyroaveraging operations with matrices is presented. This new scheme uses an intermediate velocity grid whose resolution is adapted to the local thermal Larmor radius. The charge density is computed by projecting marker weights in a field-line following manner while preserving ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Cell density–dependent nuclear‐cytoplasmic shuttling of SETDB1 integrates with Hippo signaling to regulate YAP1‐mediated transcription

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
At low cell density, SETDB1 and YAP1 accumulate in the nucleus. As cell density increases, the Hippo pathway is gradually activated, and SETDB1 is associated with increased YAP1 phosphorylation. At high cell density, phosphorylated YAP1 is sequestered in the cytoplasm, while SETDB1 becomes polyubiquitinated and degraded by the ubiquitin–proteasome ...

Numerical Solution using Chebyshev Expansion of the Higher-Orders Linear Fredholm Integro-Differential-Difference Equations with Variable Coefficients

open access: yesپژوهش‌های ریاضی, 2020
The main aim of this paper is to apply the Chebyshev polynomials for the solution of the linear Fredholm integro-differential-difference equation of high orders. It is usually difficult to analytically solve this equation.

An Efficient Operational Matrix Method for Solving a Class of Two-Dimensional Singular Volterra Integral Equations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Sciences and Modelling, 2018
In this paper, we consider a spectral method to solve a class of two-dimensional singular Volterra integral equations using some basic concepts of fractional calculus.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
