Tomorrow's network operators will be programmers (keynote)
Companion Proceedings of the 2015 ACM SIGPLAN International Conference on Systems, Programming, Languages and Applications: Software for Humanity, 2015Communications networks remain incredibly difficult to manage, troubleshoot, and secure. Network management challenges exist in all kinds of networks. In this talk, I will describe how Software Defined Networking (SDN), which decouples logical network control from the underlying network infrastructure, can simplify many network management tasks in ...

Hitler's ‘Programme’ and the Genesis of Operation ‘Barbarossa’
The Historical Journal, 1983Hitler's foreign policy is still an area of widespread interest - particularly the question of its inner coherence. The present consensus goes back to the early 1950s and 1960s, when the German attack upon Russia was viewed as one stage in Hitler's quest for European hegemony or even world domination. Rapid prototyping of an ATM programmable associative operator
Journal of Systems Architecture, 2000In this paper, we describe a semi-automatic method for designing a programmable architecture related to high speed communication protocols. A case study of associative based architecture of high speed communication system is presented with a validation environment.

Operators and systems programmers are people, too
Proceedings of the 6th annual ACM SIGUCCS conference on User services - SIGUCCS '78, 1978Obviously, the general function of most user service groups is to provide assistance for users. This assistance may take several forms: consulting and debugging; documentation of the system, its programs and usage; and educational classes in languages, utilities, and other aspects of computing system use.One of the ORNL site's best method of improving ...

The operating system kernel as a secure programmable machine
Proceedings of the 6th workshop on ACM SIGOPS European workshop Matching operating systems to application needs - EW 6, 1994To provide modularity and performance, operating system kernels should have only minimal embedded functionality. Today's operating systems are large, inefficient and, most importantly, inflexible. In our view, most operating system performance and flexibility problems can be eliminated simply by pushing the operating system interface lower.

Automating an operational resilience programme: An approach to readiness
Journal of Business Continuity & Emergency Planning, 2020The decision to automate any part of a resilience programme may be straightforward, but translating that decision into a successful software selection and implementation demands complete, detailed scoping and a commitment to a culture of ongoing change and improvement.

Programmable Matched Filter by Charge-Domain Operation
2005 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2005A novel matched filter (MF) design based on the charge-domain operation is described. To investigate the charge transfer characteristics and operations of correlator circuits that comprise the MF, prototype designs are made by standard CMOS and fabricated by the MOSIS 1.5-/spl mu/m overlapping double-poly and double-metal technology.
