The Operational Risk – Comparative Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesTheoretical and Applied Economics, 2009
In many cases operational risks tend to be underestimated, considering that the losses they cause are generally minor can’t threatening the survival of a bank.

CAPITAL REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATIONAL RISK: AN INCENTIVE APPROACH [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper proposes a simple continuous time model to analyze capital charges for operational risk. We find that undercapitalized banks have less incentives to reduce their operational risk exposure.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Berth Efficiency Under Risk Conditions in Seaports Through Integrated DEA and AHP Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
In the context of increasingly complex and dynamic maritime logistics, seaports serve as critical nodes for intermodal transport, energy distribution, and global trade.

Operational Risk Management in a Financial Institution [PDF]

open access: yesOvidius University Annals: Economic Sciences Series, 2019
Risk is a fundamental business factor, mostly because no activity can be profitable without risk. Therefore, any business company is trying to maximize its profits by managing the risk specific to its field of activity and by avoiding or transferring the

Operational Risk Management using a Fuzzy Logic Inference System [PDF]

open access: yes
Operational Risk (OR) results from endogenous and exogenous risk factors, as diverse and complex to assess as human resources and technology, which may not be properly measured using traditional quantitative approaches.

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Estimation of operational value-at-risk in the presence of minimum collection threshold: An empirical study [PDF]

open access: yes
The recently finalized Basel II Capital Accord requires banks to adopt a procedure to estimate the operational risk capital charge. Under the Advanced Measurement Approaches, that are currently mandated for all large internationally active US banks ...
