Regulating the Interphase Strain in High‐Entropy Oxide Thin Films – An Approach to Attaining Giant Energy Storage Capability under Moderate Electric Fields

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates an interphase strain engineering strategy to regulate capacitive energy storage performance in high‐entropy oxide thin films. Through introducing pyrochlore nanocolumns, the polarization response of perovskite unit cells is strengthened, yielding recoverable energy densities up to 93 J cm−3 with an efficiency of 83% under ...

Single‐Step Conversion of Metal Impurities in CNTs to Electroactive Metallic Nitride Nanoclusters for Electrochemical CO2 Reduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A single‐step, low‐temperature co‐pyrolysis process removes encapsulated seed metal NPs (10–50 nm) from CNTs, redistributing them as surface‐anchored metal and metal–nitride NCs (1–1.5 nm). Herein, Ni3N NCs achieve an ultra‐low onset overpotential for CO2 reduction to CO with >98% Faradaic efficiency across 100–700 mA cm−2.

Self‐supportive Three‐Way Photoelectrochemical System Achieving Uranium Recycling, Organic Oxidation, and Electricity Generation in Complex Waters

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐sustaining solar photoelectrochemical cell (SS‐PEC) is developed to recover uranium from aqueous UO22+ with concurrent organic oxidation and electricity production. The monolithical photoanode directly captures electrons from organic compounds, leading to the oxidation of organic compounds and the decomposition of uranium‐organic complexes ...

A Vertically‐Stacked Optoelectronic Sensor for Localized Hemodynamics Monitoring

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a hemodynamics monitoring sensor that features vertically stacked microLEDs and a heterogeneously integrated photodetector. The vertically stacked microLEDs enable localized measurements, and by designing the interoptode distance according to the depth of the target region, this vertically stacked optoelectronic sensor is ...

Does the Disposition Effect Justify the Options Traders’ Irrationality?

open access: yesФинансы: теория и практика
The options trader’s decisions are expected to be rational decisions but an element of irrationality is observed in decision making. The Disposition effect is the behavioral aspect of an investor which explains his irrational decision-making.
