Spectral and scattering theory for perturbations of the Carleman operator [PDF]
We study spectral properties of the Carleman operator (the Hankel operator with kernel $h_{0}(t)=t^{-1}$) and, in particular, find an explicit formula for its resolvent. Then we consider perturbations of the Carleman operator $H_{0}$ by Hankel operators $

Operator-Based Nonlinear Control for a Miniature Flexible Actuator Using the Funnel Control Method
Recently, the studies of soft actuators have been getting increased attention among various fields. Soft actuators are very safe for fragile objects and have an affinity to humans because they are composed of flexible materials.

On quantitative operator K-theory [PDF]
In this paper, we develop a quantitative K-theory for filtered C*-algebras. Particularly interesting examples of filtered C*-algebras include group C*-algebras, crossed product C*-algebras and Roe algebras. We prove a quantitative version of the six term exact sequence and a quantitative Bott periodicity. We apply the quantitative K-theory to formulate

Considering sensor faults for a thermoelectric cooler actuated by Peltier devices, this work proposes an operator-based robust nonlinear fault tolerant controller (FTC) integrated with early fault detection using a support vector machine (SVM).

Operational theories as structural realism
We undertake a reconstruction of the epistemic significance of research on operational theories in quantum foundations. We suggest that the space of operational theories is analogous to the space of possible worlds employed in the possible world semantics for modal logic, so research of this sort can be understood as probing modal structure.

Resonance Theory for Schrödinger Operators [PDF]
Resonances which result from perturbation of embedded eigenvalues are studied by time dependent methods. A general theory is developed, with new and weaker conditions, allowing for perturbations of threshold eigenvalues and relaxed Fermi Golden rule. The exponential decay rate of resonances is addressed; its uniqueness in the time dependent picture is ...

Cornerstones of Sampling of Operator Theory
This paper reviews some results on the identifiability of classes of operators whose Kohn-Nirenberg symbols are band-limited (called band-limited operators), which we refer to as sampling of operators.

A Calculation of the plane wave string Hamiltonian from N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory [PDF]
Berenstein, Maldacena, and Nastase have proposed, as a limit of the strong form of the AdS/CFT correspondence, that string theory in a particular plane wave background is dual to a certain subset of operators in the N=4 super-Yang-Mills theory.

Data‐driven performance metrics for neural network learning
Summary Effectiveness of data‐driven neural learning in terms of both local mimima trapping and convergence rate is addressed. Such issues are investigated in a case study involving the training of one‐hidden‐layer feedforward neural networks with the extended Kalman filter, which reduces the search for the optimal network parameters to a state ...

We first define the notion of lacunary statistical convergence of order (α,β), and taking this notion into consideration, we introduce some seminormed difference sequence spaces over n-normed spaces with the help of Musielak-Orlicz function M=(Mk) of ...
