This study shows anti‐CEACAM5 CAR T‐cells are ineffective against colorectal cancer (CRC) because of CEACAM5 sequestration at intercellular junctions and the thick tumour cell glycocalyx. Enzymatic treatments of CRC cell monolayer/tissue section with trypsin or hyaluronidase restore CEACAM5 availability, enhance CAR T‐cell activation, increase ...

Magnetoencephalography for the investigation and diagnosis of Mild Traumatic Brain Injury [PDF]
Mild Traumatic Brain Injury (mTBI), (or concussion), is the most common type of brain injury. Despite this, it often goes undiagnosed and can cause long term disability—most likely caused by the disruption of axonal connections in the brain.

Using machine‐learning analyses in two independent multiple sclerosis cohorts, spinal cord atrophy and cortical degeneration emerged as key predictors of disability and progression independent of relapses. Deep gray matter damage further improved prediction, while serum biomarkers of brain damage provided complementary information, highlighting the ...

Wireless optically pumped magnetometer MEG
The current magnetoencephalography (MEG) systems, which rely on cables for control and signal transmission, do not fully realize the potential of wearable optically pumped magnetometers (OPM). This study presents a significant advancement in wireless OPM-

Chromosome segregation in Streptococcus pneumoniae depends on RocS, a bitopic protein whose membrane‐anchoring mechanisms were unclear. Using NMR and AFM, this study reveals that the widely conserved RocS anchor binds to membranes via a conserved kink‐helix motif which inserts into lipid nanodomains.

Test-retest reliability of auditory MMN measured with OPM-MEG
AbstractIn this paper, we report results from an investigation of auditory mismatch responses as measured by magnetoencephalography (MEG) based on optically pumped magnetometers (OPM). Specifically, as part of a quality control study, we examined the reliability and validity of auditory mismatch negativity (MMN) recordings, obtained with a newly ...
