Infrared reflectance as a diagnostic adjunct for subclinical commotio retinae
Commotio retinae (CR) is an outer retinal disorder following blunt trauma to the eye. Histologically it is characterized by disruption of the photoreceptor outer segments (OS), typically without injury to other retinal layers.

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

The role of confocal scanning laser ophthalmoscopy in stereometric differentiation of eye papilla in ocular hypertension, normal tension glaucoma and primary open-angle glaucoma [PDF]
Background/Aim. Primary open angle glaucoma (POAG) and normal tension glaucoma (NTG) demonstrate the same structural changes in the optic disc along with visual field defects but only POAG includes an abnormal elevation of intraocular pressure ...

Influence of Test Temperature and Test Frequency on Fatigue Life of Aluminum Alloy EN AW‐2618A
The influence of test temperature and test frequency on the fatigue life of EN AW‐2618A is investigated. High‐cycle fatigue tests are performed at different test temperatures and frequencies on the 1000 h/230°C overaged state. Both test parameters reduce fatigue life due to time‐dependent damage mechanisms.

Do not let thermal drift and instrument artifacts deceive high‐temperature nanoindentation results. We compare classical Oliver–Pharr and automatic image recognition analyses across steels and a Ni alloy to quantify these effects. Accounting for artifacts reveals systematic softening with temperature, while Cr and Ni additions boost resistance ...
