Optic Disk Vasculitis

American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1980
A 44-year-old woman developed progressive loss of vision associated initially with a swollen optic disk, and later with optic atrophy and a diffuse retinal vasculopathy, which caused extensive retinal hemorrhagagic. Histopathologic examination showed hemorrhagagic infarction of the retina, as well as infarction of the anterior optic nerve. In the optic

Tilted Optic Disks

Survey of Ophthalmology, 2010
Tilted optic disks are a common finding in the general population. An expression of anomalous human development, the tilted disk appears rotated and tilted along its axes. Visual sequelae described with tilted optic disks include myopia, astigmatism, visual field loss, deficient color vision, and retinal abnormalities.

Optic Disk Drusen

Survey of Ophthalmology, 2002
Optic disk drusen occur in 3.4 to 24 per 1,000 population and are bilateral in approximately 75%. Disturbance in the axonal metabolism in the presence of a small scleral canal--regardless of eyelength--is considered responsible for the development. The drusen increase in size, becoming more visible with age due to continuing calcium apposition, and ...

Video disk player optics

Applied Optics, 1978
The optics of a video disk player are described. The bandwidth and the playing time of a disk had been specified at 12 MHz and 30 min, respectively. A readout photodetector signal of high quality can be obtained with a well-corrected objective having a numerical aperture of at least 0.4.

Optic disk pits and optic disk pit maculopathy: A review

Survey of Ophthalmology, 2019
Optic disk pit, one of the optic disk cavitary anomalies, is generally congenital and unilateral and occurs equally in males and females. Optic disk pit maculopathy is characterized by intraretinal and subretinal fluid at the macula, causing visual deterioration. The origin of the macular fluid and the mechanism of transition to the subretinal space in

Optical disk-based neural network

Annual Meeting Optical Society of America, 1989
The rapid growth of optical disk storage techniques provides an advantage for optics in large capacity information storage and processing. Here we propose an optical disk-based neural network architecture for high speed and large capacity associative processing.

Optic Disk Tubercle

Journal of Neuro-Ophthalmology, 1998
The purpose of this case report was to present a rare case of optic disk tubercle. The optic disk edema resolved on antituberculous therapy with recovery of vision. We concluded that visual loss from an optic disk tubercle can be the presenting sign of tuberculosis.

Optical Disk Cluster Drive and Its Optical Filler Disk

Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1999
Optical memory has the advantage of large capacity, media removability and high reliability. However, when it is used in such systems as a home server, video on demand or network server, the data transfer rate is too low. Use of an optical cluster drive is one of the promising methods of increasing the data transfer rate.

Optic Disk Abnormalities

Neurologic Clinics, 1983
Ophthalmoscopic abnormalities of the optic disk may signal the presence of acquired intracranial disease; or the disk anomaly may be congenital and only mimic an acquired disk change; or the disk anomaly may be acquired but caused by a purely ocular disease. The abnormal disk may be elevated, excavated, or flat and may be abnormal in color, contour, or

Optic disk oxygen tension

Experimental Eye Research, 1977
Abstract The optic disk oxygen tension has been measured polarographically in rhesus monkeys using a microelectrode. It was shown that the central retinal artery “leaks” oxygen and that there is a gradient in the surface oxygen tensions across the optic disk.
