Optic disk drusen in children [PDF]
Optic disk drusen occur in 0.4% of children and consist of acellular intracellular and extracellular deposits that often become calcified over time. They are typically buried early in life and generally become superficial, and therefore visible, later in childhood, at the average age of 12 years.

The cost-effectiveness of different strategies to evaluate optic disk drusen in children [PDF]
To compare the costs of diagnostic work-up for optic disk drusen where ophthalmic ultrasound was performed prior to imaging and invasive studies with those where ophthalmic ultrasound was performed after such studies. The medical records of patients

An atypical case of optic disk drusen with nerve fiber layer thickening
We report an atypical case of optic disk drusen (ODD). A 12-year-old girl complained of blurred vision in both eyes. However, visual acuities in both eyes were 20/20. Fundus examination revealed blurring of the optic disk margins and elevation of the optic disk in both eyes. Initially it was considered that the diagnosis would be papilledema.

Incidentally discovered optic nerve head drusen
A 34-year-old white woman presented for holocephalic headaches following a blow to the head. She did not mention any vision disturbance. Computed tomography was performed and displayed bilateral calcific deposits in the disk optic areas consistent with ...

Evaluation of retinal nerve fiber layer thickness in a patient with bilateral optic disc drusen
Optic disc drusen (ODD) is the accumulations of calcified hyaline-like material within the substance of the optic nerve head. Optic disc drusen, especially if it is bilateral, may mimic the clinical presentation of papilledema.

Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension Is Characterized by a Distinct Proteomic Profile
Objectives The pathophysiology of idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is poorly understood and disease‐specific biomarkers are lacking. We aimed to shed light on IIH pathophysiology and identify disease‐specific biomarkers. Methods This prospective cross‐sectional cohort study included patients with new‐onset IIH and age‐, body mass index‐, and ...
