Development of single photon source based on micro-ring resonator for quantum memories [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2023
We design a photon pair source with emission at 606 nm and 3.98 MHz linewidth, which matches the spectral properties of praseodymium ions. To reduce the linewidth the use of cavity-enhanced spontaneous four-wave mixing was proposed.

Partially coherent surface plasmon modes [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications, 2011
Elementary long-range plasmon modes are described assuming an exponential dependence of the refractive index in the neighbourhood of the interface dielectric-metal thin film. The study is performed using coupling mode theory. The interference between two

Wavelength-tunable picosecond pulses from a passively mode-locked figure-eight Erbium-doped fiber laser with a Sagnac fiber filter [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications, 2008
We experimentally demonstrated a wavelength-tunable passively mode-locked Erbium-doped figure-eight fiber laser. Wide tunability is achieved using a high-birefringence (hi-bi) fiber Sagnac loop.

Degree of polarization and quantum-mechanical purity [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the European Optical Society-Rapid Publications, 2008
The purity parameter is used in quantum mechanics to discriminate pure states from mixed states. We employ this concept to define a degree of polarization for general, three-dimensional, classical random electric fields.

Measurements and estimation of the columnar optical depth of tropospheric aerosols in the UV spectral region [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2002
We report values of the columnar tropospheric aerosol optical depth at UV wavelengths based on experimental measurements of the direct spectral irradiances carried out by a commercial spectroradiometer (Li1800 of Licor company) covering the range ...

Transmittance of tapered photonic crystal fibers with absorbing coatings [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2020
The interaction of the adiabatically tapered photonic crystal fiber fundamental mode with a thin-film absorbing coating, deposited on a surface of a taper waist, on transmission of a tapered fiber is studied.

On the Prediction of Chaotic Time Series using Neural Networks

open access: yesChaos Theory and Applications, 2022
Prediction techniques have the challenge of guaranteeing large horizons for chaotic time series. For instance, this paper shows that the majority of techniques can predict one step ahead with relatively low root-mean-square error (RMSE) and Symmetric ...
