Experimental Study of Wavy Surface Effects on Uplink Water-Air Optical Camera Communication [PDF]

open access: yes, 2023
This paper presents an experimental study of water-to-air optical camera communication (OCC) in the presence of wavy surface conditions. It evaluates the system performance in terms of the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), considering various camera exposure ...

OCC-ID: New Broadcasting Service-Based Cloud Model and Image Sensor Communications

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2016
In recent decades, the main data traffic of mobile communication is based on the RF technology. Even though the efficiency from optimization for utilization or reuse is applied, there is a limitation of increased traffic demand of RF communication ...

OCC strategies for intra-satellite communications-OCC4SAT project. [PDF]

open access: yes
The current paradigm for intra-satellite communication links transfers data via a traditional harness (cabling, connectors, and shielding to ensure electromagnetic compatibility), adding design complexity, weight, and cost to the satellite's construction

Time Span of an Image Frame Using a CMOS Sensor in Rolling Shutter‐Based Optical Camera Communications

open access: yesIET Optoelectronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
In this paper, the use of CMOS image sensors as receivers in a rolling shutter optical camera communication system is addressed, analysing the internal working principles that dominate the registration of the incoming light signals and the digital image acquisition.

Rolling OFDM for Image Sensor Based Optical Wireless Communication

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2019
Orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) is a digital multicarrier modulation scheme that is employed in broadband wired and wireless communication as an effective solution with inter-symbol interference caused by a multipath channel.

Disrupted Human–Dog Interbrain Neural Coupling in Autism‐Associated Shank3 Mutant Dogs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 11, Issue 41, November 6, 2024.
This study explores interbrain activity coupling during human–dog interactions, revealing that mutual gaze and petting enhance neural synchronization in frontal and parietal regions, respectively. Dogs carrying autism‐linked Shank3 mutations display impaired neural coupling and attention, which are rescued by the psychedelic lysergic acid diethylamide.

Water-to-air unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) based rolling shutter optical camera communication (OCC) system with gated recurrent unit neural network (GRU-NN)

open access: yesOptics Express
Underwater sensors and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) are widely adopted in oceanic research activities. As the number of underwater sensors and AUVs is growing quickly, the bandwidth requirements are increasing accordingly. In this work, we put forward and demonstrate a large field-of-view (FOV) water-to-air unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) based ...

Male genitalia, hierarchical homology, and the anatomy of the bullet ant (Paraponera clavata; Hymenoptera, Formicidae)

open access: yesJournal of Morphology, Volume 285, Issue 9, September 2024.
We present a multimodal anatomy of the male genitalia of the bullet ant, Paraponera clavata. Using this as a model system, we expand and refine on the 5‐category system of homology classification proposed by Meneganzin et al. (2024) and we present evidence supporting the penis‐coxopod theory of male genitalic homology in male insects. Abstract The male
