Optical bistability in PLZT ceramics

Ferroelectrics, 1997
Abstract Optical bistability in PLZT ceramics due to the Ar+ laser induced heating and changes of the optical thickness of a plane parallel PLZT plate (behaving as the Fabry-Perot cavity) is observed. Such PLZT ceramics plate is used also as an extracavity laser mirror. Thermooptical tuning of the mirror causes a non-liner behaviour of such system.

MgF2 Optical Ceramics

Russian Physics Journal, 2021
Results of studies of the luminescent properties of MgF2 ceramics and MgF2 ceramics doped with tungsten trioxide synthesized in air upon exposure to a pulsed electron beam are presented. The photo- and cathodoluminescence spectra and the photoluminescence excitation spectra have been studied at 300 K both in as-prepared samples and in the samples after

Optical ceramics MgF2

Izvestiya vysshikh uchebnykh zavedenii. Fizika, 2021
The results of studies of the luminescent properties of ceramics of MgF2 and MgF2, doped with tungsten trioxide, synthesized in air under the influence of a pulsed electron beam are presented. The photo- and cathodoluminescence spectra and the photoluminescence excitation spectra were studied at 300 K both in as-prepared samples and in the samples ...

Rugged oxide ceramics for optics

Advanced Optics for Imaging Applications: UV through LWIR VI, 2021
At the Naval Research Laboratory, we have developed several rugged oxide materials for optics applications. These materials include cubic sesquioxides (Y2O3 and Lu2O3) and spinel ceramics which transmit in the UV, visible, SWIR and MWIR wavelength region.

Optical Properties of Ceramics

2019
This chapter provides an overview on essential principle of optical properties of ceramics which involves the phenomena in physics of the interaction between light and materials. Firstly, the light-matter interactions and how light behaves are described by considering the five key factors: scattering, absorption, transmission, reflection, and ...

Optical applications of glass-ceramics

Journal of Non-Crystalline Solids, 2010
Abstract Glass-ceramics are usually formed through passing several stages of phase transformations (nucleation, crystallization of metastable and stable crystalline phases). The properties of glass-ceramics depend on at what stage the process was stopped. The phase assemblage of glass-ceramics is controlled by the composition of the initial glass and
