Acousto-optic laser optical feedback imaging [PDF]
We present a photon noise and diffraction limited imaging method combining the imaging laser and ultrasonic waves. The laser optical feedback imaging (LOFI) technique is an ultrasensitive imaging method for imaging objects through or embedded within a scattering medium.

OPTICAL TRANSISTORS WITH NEGATIVE FEEDBACK
We consider a Fabry-Perot filled with a nonlinear medium. The transmitted (It) and reflected (Ir) intensities are related to the holding or input beam intensity Ih by the Airy formulae: It is assumed that the angle of incidence is sufficiently small (i.e., near normal incidence) to neglect the angular dependence in the Airy function.

Laser Optical Feedback Turns 60
As soon as a laser is fired, some of the emitted light is scattered backward and coupled with the cavity modes, causing instability [...]

Optical Feedback Radiation Forces: Intracavity Optical Trapping with Feedback-locked Diode Lasers [PDF]
We demonstrate a novel mechanism for optical tweezing, where a trapped particle dynamically alters an external cavity quality factor, reduceing the average intensity and photodamage, even employing low-numerical aperture lenses and wide fields-of-view.

Self-aligned setup for laser optical feedback imaging insensitive to parasitic optical feedback [PDF]
In this paper we propose a new optical architecture for the laser optical feedback imaging (LOFI) technique which makes it possible to avoid the adverse effect of the optical parasitic backscattering introduced by all the optical interfaces located between the laser source and the studied object.

Semiconductor laser with filtered optical feedback: from optical injection to conventional feedback
AbstractWe study a model for a semiconductor laser subject to filtered optical feedback, that is a system of delay differential equations (DDEs). In this model the filter is characterisedby a mean frequency Ωm and a filter width λ. In the limit of a narrow filter(λ → 0) the laser equations reduce to the equations for a laser with optical injection ...

Laser optical feedback imaging controlled by an electronic feedback loop [PDF]
In autodyne interferometry, the beating between the reference beam and the signal beam takes place inside the laser cavity and therefore the laser fulfills simultaneously the roles of emitter and detector of photons. In these conditions, the laser relaxation oscillations play a leading role, both in the laser quantum noise, which determines the signal ...

Optical feedback interferometry for raster scan profilometry [PDF]
This paper evaluates optical feedback interferometry for raster scan profilometry applications. It is shown both experimentally and theoretically that the spot size on target plays a major role as the phase distribution of the scattering contributions impacts drastically the sensor signal.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Optical receiver with optical feedback
A new optical receiver with optical feedback is described. The optical feedback is implemented by feeding back a fraction of the light from an optical source which is connected to the output of the receiver, to an extra photodiode. The proposed theoretical model was found to be in good agreement with measurement results on a 5 MHz optical receiver.
