Temporal point-by-point arbitrary waveform synthesis beyond tera sample per second
Arbitrary waveform synthesizers are indispensable in modern information technology, yet electronic counterparts are limited by the speed of analog-to-digital converters to hundreds of GSa/s. While photonic-assisted synthesizers offer potential to surpass

The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Advances on broadband and resonant chiral metasurfaces
Chirality describes mirror symmetry breaking in geometric structures or certain physical quantities. The interaction between chiral structure and chiral light provides a rich collection of means for studying the chirality of substances. Recently, optical

Brillouin Scattering From Hybrid Acoustic Wave in a Microscaled Fiber for Gas Pressure Sensing
A gas pressure sensor based on Brillouin scattering in a microscaled fiber is experimentally demonstrated. The microscaled fiber with a diameter of 1.9 μm is drawn from a commercial single-mode fiber.
