Temporal Trends in and Associations With Nonsteroidal Anti‐inflammatory Drug Prescription in Adult and Pediatric Patients With Inflammatory Bowel Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Recent inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) treatment guidelines have recommended against nonsteroidal anti‐inflammatory drug (NSAID) use despite prevalent musculoskeletal symptoms and opioid overuse in this population. Given the discordance between changing national guidelines and potential clinical utility, we sought to assess national temporal

Multi-Frequency Monitoring of the Flat Spectrum Radio Quasar PKS 1222+216 in 2008–2015

open access: yesGalaxies, 2016
We analyze the broadband activity of the flat spectrum radio quasar PKS 1222+216 from 2008 to 2015 using multi-frequency monitoring which involves γ-ray data from the Fermi Large Area Telescope, total intensity and linear polarization observations from ...

Impact flare in exosystems: optical manifestation

open access: yesASTRONOMY AT THE EPOCH OF MULTIMESSENGER STUDIES. Proceedings of the VAK-2021 conference, Aug 23–28, 2021, 2022
A general discrepancy of statistics observed for known population of exosystems (exoplanets, exocomets and exosateroids)is noted. The most populated exosystem objects (i.e. exoasteroids) demonstrate the most poorly optic/IR manifestation. Sofar, only 2 events observed in IR are interpreted as an exoasteroid manifestation.

Prevalence of Systemic Lupus Erythematosus in Australia, 2010–2022: A Population‐Based Study Using Linked National Administrative Health Data

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objectives Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a heterogenous inflammatory condition, with widely varying global prevalence estimates. Frequency of SLE in the general population of Australia has been reported to be notably lower than contemporary estimates in countries such as the US or UK at 19‐39 per 100,000 as opposed to 65‐97 per 100,000.

Quasi-simultaneous Optical Flux and Polarization Variability of the Binary Super Massive Black Hole Blazar OJ 287 from 2015 to 2023: Detection of an Anticorrelation in Flux and Polarization Variability

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters, 2023
We study the optical flux and polarization variability of the binary black hole blazar OJ 287 using quasi-simultaneous observations from 2015 to 2023 carried out using telescopes in the USA, Japan, Russia, Crimea, and Bulgaria.

Preparing for the Early eVolution Explorer: Characterizing the Photochemical Inputs and Transit Detection Efficiencies of Young Planets Using Multiwavelength Flare Observations by TESS and Swift

open access: yesThe Astronomical Journal
Ultraviolet flare emission can drive photochemistry in exoplanet atmospheres and even serve as the primary source of uncertainty in atmospheric retrievals.

Results from Optical and UV Stellar Flare Spectroscopy [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1983
ABSTRACTOptical and ultraviolet spectroscopy can enable the assessment of the physical conditions characterizing a stellar flare atmosphere and thereby potentially elucidate the possible radiative and hydrodynamic transport mechanisms operative during stellar flares.

RoboPol: optical polarization-plane rotations and flaring activity in blazars [PDF]

open access: yesMonthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, 2016
We present measurements of rotations of the optical polarization of blazars during the second year of operation of RoboPol, a monitoring programme of an unbiased sample of gamma-ray bright blazars specially designed for effective detection of such events, and we analyse the large set of rotation events discovered in two years of observation.
