An improved 2D optical flow sensor for motion segmentation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A functional focal-plane implementation of a 2D optical flow system is presented that detects an preserves motion discontinuities. The system is composed of two different network layers of analog computational units arranged in a retinotopical order.

A Comparative Study of Cerebral Oxygenation During Exercise in Hemodialysis and Peritoneal Dialysis Patients

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Cognitive impairment and exercise intolerance are common in dialysis patients. Cerebral perfusion and oxygenation play a major role in both cognitive function and exercise execution; HD session per se aggravates cerebral ischemia in this population. This study aimed to compare cerebral oxygenation and perfusion at rest and in mild

Registration of Consecutive Frames From Wireless Capsule Endoscopy for 3D Motion Estimation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
Wireless Capsule Endoscopy (WCE) is a non-invasive medical procedure devised for painless in vivo inspection of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. It is especially valuable for the examination of the small intestine since it is difficult to reach by ...

Predicting the Future Burden of Renal Replacement Therapy in Türkiye Using National Registry Data and Comparative Modeling Approaches

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Chronic kidney disease is a growing public health problem worldwide, and the number of patients requiring renal replacement therapy is steadily increasing. Türkiye has experienced a similar rise in both the incidence and prevalence of renal replacement therapy over the past decades; however, national‐level projections of future ...

OptiFlex: Multi-Frame Animal Pose Estimation Combining Deep Learning With Optical Flow

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience, 2021
Animal pose estimation tools based on deep learning have greatly improved animal behaviour quantification. These tools perform pose estimation on individual video frames, but do not account for variability of animal body shape in their prediction and ...

A Fusion Approach for Multi-Frame Optical Flow Estimation

open access: yes, 2018
To date, top-performing optical flow estimation methods only take pairs of consecutive frames into account. While elegant and appealing, the idea of using more than two frames has not yet produced state-of-the-art results.

The anti‐CRISPR protein AcrIE8.1 inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system by directly binding to the Cascade subunit Cas11

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

Optimal Filter Estimation for Lucas-Kanade Optical Flow

open access: yesSensors, 2012
Optical flow algorithms offer a way to estimate motion from a sequence of images. The computation of optical flow plays a key-role in several computer vision applications, including motion detection and segmentation, frame interpolation, three ...
