Analysis and Demonstration of a Fast Tunable Fiber-Ring-Based Optical Frequency Comb Generator [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Lightwave Technology, 2007
Fiber-ring-based optical frequency comb generators are analyzed to understand their behavior and limitations. A numerical frequency-domain model is described for studying dispersion and other phase mismatch causing effects in the fiber ring cavity, as ...

Tunable acousto-optic optical frequency combs

Optics Letters, 2022
Examination of various issues related to the generation and application of optical frequency combs (OFCs) is an important branch of modern optoelectronics. Some of the proposed OFC generation methods apply acousto-optic (AO) devices. The AO devices are used either as the element devoted to the OFC phase stabilization or they play the role of an optical

Squeezed optical frequency combs in a microresonator

Frontiers in Optics + Laser Science 2021, 2021
We report a demonstration of optical microresonator-based frequency comb (microcomb) in the deterministic quantum regime, where 20 pairs of two-mode squeezed comb mode pairs are generated in a silica microresonator on a silicon chip.

Optical frequency comb spectroscopy

Faraday Discussions, 2011
Optical frequency combs offer enormous potential in the detection and control of atoms and molecules by combining their vast spectral coverage with the extremely high spectral resolution of each individual comb component. Sensitive and multiplexed trace gas detection via cavity-enhanced direct frequency comb spectroscopy has been demonstrated for ...

Integrated optical frequency combs

2017 19th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2017
Optical frequency combs (OFCs) are a revolutionary light source for numerous applications due to their precisely spaced coherent optical wavelengths. his paper will focus on OFCs for employment in next generation dense/ultra-dense wavelength division multiplexed high-speed optical communication systems, which places stringent requirements on the OFC ...

Efficient optical frequency-comb generator

Optics Letters, 1995
We have demonstrated a method that efficiently transfers the power from a single-frequency laser into a wideband frequency comb. The comb was produced by a 2.7-GHz electro-optic modulator in a resonant optical cavity. A coupled cavity technique was used to transfer 8.5% of the laser power into a comb with a span of 400 modes, or more than 1 THz.

Mapping of the Optical Frequency Comb to the Atom Velocity Comb

15th International Conference on Ultrafast Phenomena, 2006
We present the experimental and theoretical study of the resonant excitation of rubidium atoms with fs pulse train in the conditions when the pulse repetition period is shorter than the atomic relaxation time. The velocity selective optical pumping of the ground state hyperfine levels and velocity comb-like excited state hyperfine level populations are
