White patches of male capercaillie tails vary greatly in coverage and symmetry, but the amount of white or the symmetry of the patches was not associated with mate choice. Female choice does not appear to be based on the white patterns on the tail. Highly visible at dawn, the patches may instead facilitate individual identification.

Embracing Complexity in HRM Research: A Call for System and Process Perspectives
ABSTRACT Human resource management (HRM) is inherently complex. It involves systems of principles, practices, and activities operating at individual, group, organizational, and macro levels, which are interlinked through complex processes. Yet, empirical research has not kept pace with this conceptual richness.

Optical Frequency Comb Stabilization as an Optical Frequency Reference
Accurately measuring optical frequencies is an important challenge in modern physics because of the rapidity of optical oscillations. Frequency combs have revolutionized the measurement of these optical frequencies, providing us with a device that has ...

ABSTRACT This article examines what becomes possible for interpretive literacy research when time is treated not as a neutral backdrop but as a central problematic. We argue that research does not merely trace temporal sequences; it actively creates temporalities that shape what becomes sensible, thinkable, and sayable within literacy studies.
