Mineral dust aerosols play an important role in the Earth’s radiation budget and climate system, and their optical properties strongly influence the accuracy of polarization lidar retrievals. Developing realistic optical models is therefore essential for

Scattering Removal for Finger-Vein Image Restoration
Finger-vein recognition has received increased attention recently. However, the finger-vein images are always captured in poor quality. This certainly makes finger-vein feature representation unreliable, and further impairs the accuracy of finger-vein ...

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Towards model-based adaptive optics optical coherence tomography
The transfer function for optical wavefront aberrations in single-mode fiber based optical coherence tomography is determined. The loss in measured OCT signal due to optical wavefront aberrations is quantified using Fresnel propagation and the calculation of overlap integrals.

Optical conductivity for a dimer in the Dynamic Hubbard model
The Dynamic Hubbard Model represents the physics of a multi-band Hubbard model by using a pseudo-spin degree of freedom to dynamically modify the on-site Coulomb interaction. Here we use a dimer system to obtain analytical results for this model.

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

Special light trajectories in optical medium [PDF]
The Fermat principle is used to define trajectories in nonhomogenous optical media. The Poincare model of the Lobachevskii geometry is derived. The index of refraction is determined for the light confined in the circular trajectory in the optical medium ...

Applying newly developed dynamical density matrix renormalization group techniques at zero and finite temperatures to a Hubbard-Holstein model at half-filling, we examine the optical conductivity of a typical one-dimensional Mott insulator Sr_2CuO_3.

Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...
