Effects of Deuteron and Alpha Optical Model Potentials on the Production Cross–Section Calculations of Some Radiobromine Isotopes

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal, 2022
The extensive use of radioisotopes in diverse fields, particularly in medical studies for diagnosis and treatment, is one of the outcomes of evolving technology and improved scientific research.

Model-based vs. model-free visual servoing: A Performance evaluation in microsystems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper, model-based and model-free image based visual servoing (VS) approaches are implemented on a microassembly workstation, and their regulation and tracking performances are evaluated.

Nonlinear quantum optical computing via measurement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We show how the measurement induced model of quantum computation proposed by Raussendorf and Briegel [Phys. Rev. Letts. 86, 5188 (2001)] can be adapted to a nonlinear optical interaction. This optical implementation requires a Kerr nonlinearity, a single

Mechanisms of parasite‐mediated disruption of brain vessels

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Parasites can affect the blood vessels of the brain, often causing serious neurological problems. This review explains how different parasites interact with and disrupt these vessels, what this means for brain health, and why these processes matter. Understanding these mechanisms may help us develop better ways to prevent or treat brain infections in ...

An upstream open reading frame regulates expression of the mitochondrial protein Slm35 and mitophagy flux

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

7Li(15N,14C)8Be reaction and 13,14C + 8Be nuclei interactions

open access: yesЯдерна фізика та енергетика, 2017
Angular distributions of the 7Li(15N,14C)8Be reaction were measured at the energy Elab(15N) = 81 MeV. The reaction data were analyzed within coupled-reaction-channels (CRC) method. The 7Li + 15N elastic and inelastic scattering and the more important one-

Optical conductivity of the one-dimensional dimerized Hubbard model at quarter filling

open access: yes, 2005
We investigate the optical conductivity in the Mott insulating phase of the one-dimensional extended Hubbard model with alternating hopping terms (dimerization) at quarter band filling.

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

The Optical Model Absorption Term in the Frame of Fractional Derivatives

open access: yesAtoms
The complex optical model has been widely used to describe the elastic scattering of the nucleon–nucleus. The imaginary term of the optical potential takes into account the non-elastic scattering processes.
