Il Nuovo Cimento A, 1984
Recent work on the optical model is illustrated and discussed, in view of the accurate phenomenological analyses of experimental data and of the fundamental analyses, based on the nucleon-nucleon interaction in nuclear matter, that have been carried out in the past years.

Phenomenological optical potentials
The European Physical Journal Plus, 2018In this paper a “pedagogical” description of the scattering of two colliding nuclei is given. Some essential concepts are introduced, like the cross-section definition and the basic ingredients of scattering theory, which are preparatory for the discussion on the optical model. Phenomenological optical potentials are described, like the Woods-Saxon and

On the theory of the optical potential
Nuclear Physics, 1962Abstract Nucleon scattering on nuclear density fluctuations inside the nucleus is considered. The scattering coeffecient determining the imaginary part of the optical potential is expressed through the nucleon-nucleon scattering amplitude and the spectral distribution of the space-time correlation function of nuclear density fluctuations.

Potential Of Optical Lithography
Optical Engineering, 1987Practical resolution limits of submicrometer patterning by optical lithography are estimated by computer simulation. As a result, the optimum numerical aperture NA that gives the highest resolution is determined. Assuming that the permitted defocus value is ± 1 µm, a litho-graphic resolution of about 0.7 µm is obtained with 0.5 NA and near-UV exposure.

The Potential Of Optical Lithography
SPIE Proceedings, 1985The limits of submicron patterning by optical lithography were estimated by computer simulation. As a result, the optimum numerical aperture, NA, which gives the highest resolution was determined. Assuming that the permitted defocus value is +1 pm, the lithographic resolution of about 0.7 pm was obtained with NA 0.5 and near-UV exposure.

Nonlocality of the optical potential and the adiabatic approximation
Physical Review C, 1991The nonlocality property of the elastic channel optical potential is studied using a schematic coupled-channel system. It is explicitly shown that, consistent with the usual adiabatic approximation, the nonlocality is reduced as the scattering energy approaches the elastic threshold.

Optical Imaging of Cardiac Action Potential
2015This chapter reviews the major milestones and scientific achievements facilitated by optical imaging of the action potential in the heart over more than four decades since its introduction. We discuss the limitations of this technique, which sometimes are not fully recognized; the unresolved issues, such as motion artifacts, and the newest developments

Optical potential for the deuteron
Nuclear Physics A, 1968Abstract The optical potential of the deuteron is expressed in terms of neutron and proton optical potentials using the operator formalism of Feshbach. A fairly good description of the real and imaginary parts of the deuteron optical potential is obtained only when a few correction terms are taken into account.
