Causality with noncausal optical potentials

Physical Review C, 1995
It is shown by way of a simplified model that the calculation of the time nonlocal potential resulting from an energy-dependent optical potential is not unique. Most choices result in a noncausal time-dependent potential, in spite of the inclusion of appropriate scattering boundary conditions in the model.

The Potential of Optical Layer Networks

Optical Fiber Communication Conference and International Conference on Quantum Information, 2001
There is enormous potential in newly emerging optical layer networks that support a rapidly growing Internet backbone. This potential stems from the value of extended reach to remove costly regenerators, the value of configurability to reduce provisioning times between IP routers, and the value of optical peering to increase the efficiency of the EP ...

Nucleon-Antinucleon Optical Potential

Physical Review Letters, 1982
A model has been constructed for nucleon-antinucleon annihilation which is of short range but is state (energy, spin, isospin, ...) dependent as dictated by the calculation of annihilation diagrams. This model fulfills general theoretical requirements and, at the same time, provides a good fit of the presently available pp-bar experimental data; better

New parametrization of the optical potential

Physical Review C, 1994
Recent experimental results have shown that the optical potential is much more repulsive at energies above 400 MeV/nucleon than believed at the beginning of the eighties. Taking these new data into account we present a new parametrization of the optical potential, of the underlying bare nucleon-nucleon interaction, as well as of its expectation value ...
