Dysthyroid optic neuropathy: surgical treatment potential
Vestnik oftal'mologii, 2020To evaluate the effectiveness of bony orbital decompression in patients with dysthyroid optic neuropathy (DON).The study analyzed 255 patients with thyroid eye disease (TED) and bony orbital decompression. Those among them who had DON as an indication for surgery were investigated further.

Il Nuovo Cimento A, 1984
Recent work on the optical model is illustrated and discussed, in view of the accurate phenomenological analyses of experimental data and of the fundamental analyses, based on the nucleon-nucleon interaction in nuclear matter, that have been carried out in the past years.

Optical potential for deuteron
Nuclear Physics A, 1969Abstract An analytical expression for the deuteron optical potential is used to calculate the differential cross section for the elastic scattering of the deuteron from various targets. Comparison with experimental results indicates that a good fit to the experimental results cannot be obtained if the well-depth of the imaginary part of the nucleon ...

Formalism-dependent optical potentials
Il Nuovo Cimento A, 1986The most striking characteristic of a recently proposed class of antisymmetrized optical potentials for elastic nucleus-nucleus scattering is their unconventional dependence on the choice of underlying connected-kernel scattering integral equations.

New parametrization of the optical potential
Physical Review C, 1994Recent experimental results have shown that the optical potential is much more repulsive at energies above 400 MeV/nucleon than believed at the beginning of the eighties. Taking these new data into account we present a new parametrization of the optical potential, of the underlying bare nucleon-nucleon interaction, as well as of its expectation value ...

Kinematically correct optical potentials
Annals of Physics, 1976Abstract The Watson multiple scattering formalism for the optical potential describing elastic nucleon-nucleus scattering is developed while paying careful attention to the kinematics. No approximations are made in handling the recoil of the target nucleus so that internal and external energies can be uniquely separated.

Reports on Progress in Physics, 1984
The nucleon optical model is described, with particular reference to the analysis of neutron scattering and reaction cross sections. The central, spin-orbit and isospin terms in the potential are defined and the results of phenomenological determinations of their parameters reviewed.

Quasimolecular nuclear optical potentials
Zeitschrift für Physik A Hadrons and nuclei, 1969A theory is presented to calculate potentials for the elastic nuclear heavy-ion scattering in a phenomenological way. The density properties of finite nuclei are derived with a schematic ansatz for the interaction energy between nuclear matter. The same interaction energy is applied to the calculation of the real part of the heavy-ion potential, which ...

Abstract We use the impulse approximation, the Tabakin internucleon potential and a Fermi gas model for the nucleus to calculate the low energy nucleon-nucleus optical potential. The real and imaginary parts are calculated simultaneously but it is found to be an extremely good approximation to calculate them separately as is usually done.

The Potential of Optical Layer Networks
Optical Fiber Communication Conference and International Conference on Quantum Information, 2001There is enormous potential in newly emerging optical layer networks that support a rapidly growing Internet backbone. This potential stems from the value of extended reach to remove costly regenerators, the value of configurability to reduce provisioning times between IP routers, and the value of optical peering to increase the efficiency of the EP ...
