Optical spin pumping in silicon
The optical generation of an out-of-equilibrium spin population is a keystone process for quantum technologies and spintronics alike. Although this is an established technique for studying direct band-gap semiconductors, it has been proven limited in ...

Comparative Study of Thermal Lens Effect in End Pulsed-Pumped Ceramics and Single Crystal Yb3+ YAG- Cr4+ YAG Passively Q-switched Microchip Laser. [PDF]
In this work, different thermal lens focal lengths with different pumping repetition rates for ceramic and single crystal Yb:YAGare calculated for controlling the thermal focal length without using additional optical elements .

Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying
An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Active Corrosion Protection of Sintered AA7075 Aluminum Alloy via Mn Powder Addition
AA7075 containing Mn‐rich particles is fabricated via spark plasma sintering using AA7075 and Mn powders. Corrosion resistance is evaluated through dip‐and‐dry tests using 0.1 M NaCl (pH 6.0), and mass loss decreases with increasing Mn addition. Mn‐rich particles function as a source of Mn ions, and formation of Mn‐accumulation films on Cu‐containing ...

Multilayer Self‐Limiting Electrospray Deposition via Stepped Voltage Bias
Self‐limiting electrospray deposition (SLED) uses a high voltage to generate and deposit a charged payload on a target surface. The coating retains its charge, repelling newly arriving material. SLED thickness can be decreased by applying a secondary bias to the target.
