A Comparison of the Conventional PiG Marker Method Versus a Cluster-Based Model when recording Gait Kinematics in Trans-Tibial Prosthesis Users and the Implications for Future IMU Gait Analysis

open access: yesSensors, 2020
Validation testing is a necessary step for inertial measurement unit (IMU) motion analysis for research and clinical use. Optical tracking systems utilize marker models which must be precise in measurement and mitigate skin artifacts.

Tracking optical coherence tomography [PDF]

open access: yesOptics Letters, 2004
An experimental tracking optical coherence tomography (OCT) system has been clinically tested. The prototype instrument uses a secondary sensing beam and steering mirrors to compensate for eye motion with a closed-loop bandwidth of 1 kHz and tracking accuracy, to within less than the OCT beam diameter.

Using Optical Flow for Tracking [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We present two observation models based on optical flow information to track objects using particle filter algorithms. Although, in principle, the optical flow information enables us to know the displacement of the objects present in a scene, it cannot be used directly to displace a model since flow estimation techniques lack the necessary precision ...

Quantum-Enhanced Optical-Phase Tracking [PDF]

open access: yesScience, 2012
Keeping Track of Photon Phase In optical interferometers or optical communications, information is often stored in terms of the phase of the waveform or light pulse. However, fluctuations and noise can give rise to random jitter in the phase and amplitude of the optical pulses, making it difficult to keep track of the phase.
