Athermal electro-optic trimmable waveguide design
2021High-speed photonic circuits suffer from unnecessary static and dynamic power consumption required for the correction of fabrication non-uniformities and thermal drifts. We propose amorphous silicon on lithium niobate waveguides with a titanium dioxide cladding to obtain a versatile integrated photonics platform.

First design and characterization of HgZnTe optical waveguides
Journal of Applied Physics, 1990Infrared waveguides have been made by isothermal evaporation diffusion of HgTe on a ZnTe substrate and characterized at 10.6 μm by m-lines analysis. Refractive index profiles deduced from this analysis are correlated to the composition ones measured with a microprobe.

Design and Characterization of Optical Waveguides for Gyro Applications
SPIE Proceedings, 1987Polarization retaining single-mode fibers are being developed using the stress-rod approach. Design parameter values have been varied to optimize birefringence, polarization holding, and low attenuation rates. Test configurations have been developed to characterize the fibers under simulated deployment bending conditions.

Numerical Designing of Optical Waveguide by Curvilinear Coordinates
2019 International Conference on Numerical Simulation of Optoelectronic Devices (NUSOD), 2019We developed S-matrix analyzer for 3D-fullwave in curvilinear coordinates that can correspond to arbitrary shape of optical devices. The analyzer demonstrates propagation property for 90° bend of Si optical waveguide.
