Optically stimulated luminescence in NaMgF3:Eu2+

Applied Physics Letters, 2007
Optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) and thermoluminescence (TL) measurements were performed on polycrystalline NaMgF3:Eu2+ as well as sintered and quenched NaMgF3:Eu2+ after exposure to ionizing radiation. The authors find a range of TL traps and the sintering and quenching process reduces the concentration of shallow traps.

Recent development in the optical stimulation of luminescence

Radiation Measurements, 2017
Abstract Both in thermoluminescence (TL) and in optically stimulated luminescence (OSL), the physical quantity that governs the luminescence process is the probability of electron release from a trap. Thanks to the usage of the temperature dependence of this quantity, the TL analysis enables estimation of the parameters that determine uniquely a trap.

Optically stimulated luminescence dosimetry

Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2001
Abstract Models and the conceptual framework necessary for an understanding of optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) are described. Examples of various OSL readout schemes are described, along with examples of the use of OSL in radiation dosimetry.

Optically stimulated luminescence in synthetic quartz

Journal of Luminescence, 1994
Abstract Optically stimulated luminescence (OSL), has been studied in synthetic quartz crystals, which had previously been exposed to β- or X-irradiations. The main emission bands appeared at ≈380 and ≈440 nm. The excitation spectra of these emission bands were now measured and showed both a maximum at 330 nm.

Optically Stimulated Luminescence Dosimetry: An Introduction

Solid State Phenomena, 2015
A subset of solid state materials have long been used as integrating dosimeters because they store energy deposited as a result of their interactions with ionizing radiation and then, when stimulated appropriately, release a proportionate amount of visible or near-visible light.

Peculiarities of optically stimulated luminescence in halite

Radiation Measurements, 2016
Abstract Sodium chloride – NaCl is one of materials indicating strong OSL signal after exposure on ionizing radiation. Previous studies of the OSL response in pure sodium chloride showed coexistence of fading and regeneration of the signal using the newly developed variable delay optically stimulated luminescence technique (VD-OSL).

Creating optically stimulated luminescence 3D printing filament and synthesizing radiosensitive optically stimulate luminescence crystals

In radiotherapy, radiation oncologists use Megavoltage (MV) photon beams to deliver dose to target areas of a patient due to the MV's skin-sparing characteristics, but if the target area is near the surface of the patient, material referred to as a bolus is added to the patient's surface to provide dose build up and bring the maximum dose delivered ...
