Development of new optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) neutron dosimeters
Radiation Measurements, 2008Abstract This paper demonstrates the possibility of using neutron converters incorporated into Al 2 O 3 : C dosimeters to produce new neutron-sensitive OSL dosimeters suitable for personal monitoring. A comparison between different neutron converters indicate that lithium-based compounds (6LiF and Li 2 6 ...

Thermally modulated optically stimulated luminescence (TM-OSL) of quartz
Journal of Luminescence, 2018Abstract It has recently been shown in computer simulations of the OSL process that increasing the temperature during optical stimulation allows the probability of electron excitation from traps to the conduction band to be modulated. This, in turn, facilitates the efficient separation of individual OSL components. A result of the thermally modulated

Luminescence properties of BeO optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) detectors
Radiation Measurements, 2011Abstract The objective of this work is to investigate basic luminescence properties of BeO optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) detectors, including the OSL emission and stimulation spectrum, the lifetime of the luminescence centers contributing to the OSL signal, and the temperature dependence of the luminescence lifetime and of the luminescence ...

Optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) and thermally assisted OSL in Eu2+ – Doped BaSO4 phosphor
Radiation Measurements, 2014Abstract BaSO4:Eu2+ phosphor has been investigated for its photoluminescence (PL), thermoluminescence (TL), TL kinetics, optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) and thermally assisted OSL (TA-OSL) response. PL spectra showed the characteristic emission of Eu2+ ion at 375 nm when excited by 320 nm. The luminescence lifetime has been measured as 40 and

Modeling TL-like thermally assisted optically stimulated luminescence (TA-OSL)
Radiation Measurements, 2013Abstract In this work we present a model for thermally assisted optically stimulated luminescence (TA-OSL), an effect previously observed in experimental work. The model consists of one trapping state with an excited state beneath the conduction band and one kind of recombination center.

Optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) of LiMgPO 4 :Tm,Tb phosphor
Journal of Rare Earths, 2017Abstract LiMgPO 4 :Tm,Tb phosphors were synthesized using a solid-state diffusion method. Their properties were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermoluminescence (TL), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and OSL dosimetric techniques. The influence of light stimulation and thermal excitation on the TL and OSL, and the reusability of the ...

Use of optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) in the detection of irradiated spices
Radiation and Environmental Biophysics, 2021In this study, the validity of using the optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) technique as a scanning method for the detection of irradiated foodstuffs was investigated. Gamma-irradiated thyme, mint and clove samples were stimulated with a continuous wave blue light (CW-OSL) and their OSL signal sensitivity and stability properties were measured ...

Applied Radiation and Isotopes
This study investigates the OSL properties of four natural fluorite color varieties (green, purple, blue-yellow banded and yellow) under green light stimulation. Thermoluminescence reveals two peaks, with the green sample showing the strongest glow. OSL exhibits a fast initial decay followed by a slower one, with phototransfer observed in purple and ...

Optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) of Lu2SiO5:Ce powder: A preliminary study
Nuclear Instruments and Methods in Physics Research Section B: Beam Interactions with Materials and Atoms, 2011Abstract Optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) of Lu2SiO5:Ce powder (Phosphor Technology Ltd., UK) has been measured by Riso TL/OSL Reader (TL-DA-15). Upon blue photon stimulation (λex ∼470 nm) the material shows strong OSL signal that can detect β-irradiation right up to the dose of ∼0.2 Gy.
