Optimal calibration in immunoassay and inference on the coefficient of variation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
This thesis examines and develops statistical methods for design and analysis with applications in immunoassay and other analytical techniques. In immunoassay, concentrations of components in clinical samples are measured using antibodies.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

Resource Tuned Optimal Random Network Coding for Single Hop Multicast future 5G Networks [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electronics and Telecommunications, 2019
Optimal random network coding is reduced complexity in computation of coding coefficients, computation of encoded packets and coefficients are such that minimal transmission bandwidth is enough to transmit coding coefficient to the destinations and ...

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

mploying Virial Coefficients for Optimal Solutions in Variational Calculations

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal
In this study, virial coefficients for one and two-electron hydrogen and helium-like quantum dot structures confined in an infinite potential well were calculated.

Optimal designs for estimating pairs of coefficients in Fourier regression models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
In the common Fourier regression model we investigate the optimal design problem for estimating pairs of the coefficients, where the explanatory variable varies in the interval [¡¼; ¼].

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Optimal Selection of Wavelet Coefficients for Electrocardiograph Compression [PDF]

open access: yesETRI Journal, 2007
This paper presents a simple method to implement a complete on-line portable wireless holter including an electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring, processing, and communication protocol. The proposed algorithm significantly reduces the hardware resources of threshold estimation for ECG compression, using the standard deviation updated with each new input ...

Optimal designs for estimating individual coefficients in polynomial regression with no intercept [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In a seminal paper Studden (1968) characterized c-optimal designs in regression models, where the regression functions form a Chebyshev system. He used these results to determine the optimal design for estimating the individual coefficients in a ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.
