Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Optimal Control in Coefficients for Degenerate Linear Parabolic Equations

open access: yes, 2014
The aim of this work is to study the optimal control problem associated to a linear parabolic equation with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition. The control variable is the matrix of L1-coefficients in the main part of the parabolic operator. The

Clinical performance of the urine‐based TERT promoter AbsoluteQ Digital PCR for non‐invasive detection of bladder cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Combinatorial optimization of the coefficient of determination

open access: yesCoRR
Robust correlation analysis is among the most critical challenges in statistics. Herein, we develop an efficient algorithm for selecting the $k$- subset of $n$ points in the plane with the highest coefficient of determination $\left( R^2 \right)$. Drawing from combinatorial geometry, we propose a method called the \textit{quadratic sweep} that consists

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Conditional Optimal Sets and the Quantization Coefficients for Some Uniform Distributions

open access: yesMathematics
Bucklew and Wise (1982) showed that the quantization dimension of an absolutely continuous probability measure on a given Euclidean space is constant and equals the Euclidean dimension of the space, and the quantization coefficient exists as a finite ...

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

On the problem of optimal control in the coefficients of an elliptic equation

open access: yesVestnik Samarskogo Gosudarstvennogo Tehničeskogo Universiteta. Seriâ: Fiziko-Matematičeskie Nauki, 2017
In this paper we consider the optimal control problem for linear elliptic equations of the second order. Control functions are included in the coefficients of the equation for the state, including the coefficients of the highest derivatives.

Postoptimal analysis in the coefficients matrix of piecewise linear fractional programming problems with non-degenerate optimal solution [PDF]

open access: yesOpuscula Mathematica, 2010
In this paper, we discuss how changes in the coefficients matrix of piecewise linear fractional programming problems affect the non-degenerate optimal solution.

Oncogenic DMTF1β promotes cancer cell motility by regulating autophagy through ULK1 stabilization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In the current study, we demonstrate that the oncogene DMTF1β regulates ULK1 stability by reducing its proteasomal degradation in cancer cells. This stabilization enables ULK1 to induce autophagy, which in turn facilitates cancer cell migration. Consequently, reduced DMTF1β levels lead to decreased autophagy and impaired cancer cell migration.
