Fuzzy Multicriteria Decision-Making Model (MCDM) for Raw Materials Supplier Selection in Plastics Industry

open access: yesMathematics, 2019
To be able to compete in the domestic plastic industry, small and medium-sized enterprises producing plastic need to proactively find the supply of raw materials, avoiding shortages like in the previous years.

A Comparison among Portfolio Selection Strategies with Subordinated Lévy Processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper we describe portfolio selection models using Lévy processes. The contribution consists in comparing some portfolio selection strategies under different distributional assumptions. We first implement portfolio models under the hypothesis the

History and structure of the closed pedigreed population of Icelandic Sheepdogs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Background - Dog breeds lose genetic diversity because of high selection pressure. Breeding policies aim to minimize kinship and therefore maintain genetic diversity.

Optimal sensor selection for sensor-based sorting based on automated mineralogy data

open access: yesJournal of Cleaner Production, 2019
Assessing the success of sensor-based sorting in the raw materials industry currently requires time-consuming and expensive empirical test work. In this contribution we illustrate the prospects of successful sensor selection based on data acquired by ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Towards the Selection of an Optimal Global Geopotential Model for the Computation of the Long-Wavelength Contribution: A Case Study of Ghana

open access: yesGeosciences, 2017
The selection of a global geopotential model (GGM) for modeling the long-wavelength for geoid computation is imperative not only because of the plethora of GGMs available but more importantly because it influences the accuracy of a geoid model.

Decision-making tool for the optimal selection of a domestic water-heating system considering economic, environmental and social criteria: Application to Barcelona (Spain)

open access: yesRenewable & Sustainable Energy Reviews, 2018
The research presented in this paper has two main objectives. First, it aims to generate an assessment tool for ranking and selecting the most sustainable domestic water-heating system (WHS) (with the lowest economic, environmental and social impact ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
