A Hybrid Reliability Evaluation Method for Meshed VSC-HVDC Grids

open access: yesEnergies, 2017
High-voltage direct current (HVDC) grids are emerging, and their reliability has been an increasing concern for the utilities. HVDC grids are different from typical two-terminal HVDC transmission systems due to the loops in their topology, which makes it

Optimal Load Shedding Based On Hybrid Energy Generation

open access: yesFUOYE Journal of Engineering and Technology
The demand for electricity is growing at an exponential rate with no corresponding increase in the electricity production, which has led to voltage collapse in many practical power systems all over the world. This has, therefore, been a serious concern to power system engineers, investors and utilities as its effect is highly detrimental to power ...

Metachromatic Butterfly Bile Pigments for Multi‐Level Optical Security Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Bio‐derived optical security materials are manufactured by embedding butterfly‐based pigments in polymer films. Tunable color and fluorescence responses arise from concentration‐controlled metachromasy, enabling spatially encoded patterns with distinct visible, UV‐active, and spectral signatures.

OPTIMAL LOAD SHEDDING BASED ON LINE VOLTAGE STABILITY INDEX USING HARMONY SEARCH ALGORITHM [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Engineering Science and Technology, 2015
Modern power systems have been operated close to their limits for reasons of economic viability. Consequently, a small increase in the load may lead to the Maximum Loading Point (MLP) of the system resulting in voltage collapse. Under such circumstances,

Regionally Localized Electrolyte Engineering via UV Crosslinking for Stable Ether–Carbonate Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work introduces a regionally localized electrolyte (RLE) that spatially separates ether‐ and carbonate‐based functions to stabilize both Li metal and high‐voltage cathodes. An immobilized ether‐rich layer directs Li+ transport, activates LiNO3 locally, and forms a uniform LiF‐rich SEI, enabling lower overpotential, uniform deposition, and long ...

Graphene Nanosheet‐Based Mixed Proton‐Electron Conducting Membranes for Efficient Hydrogen Purification

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A monolayer graphene/phosphoric‐acid mixed proton‐electron conducting membrane combines proton‐conducting nanoconfined acid channels with electron‐conducting graphene nanosheets for efficient high‐temperature hydrogen purification. The membrane achieves nearly 100% H2/CO2 selectivity and 69 GPU hydrogen permeance at 250°C, arising from synergistic ...
