Second order integral sliding mode observer and controller for a nuclear reactor

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2020
This paper presents an observer-based chattering free robust optimal control scheme to regulate the total power of a nuclear reactor. The non-linear model of nuclear reactor is linearized around a steady state operating point to obtain a linear model for

An Algorithm for Calculating Gas Transmission System Optimal Stationary Mode [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences, 2019
In this paper, we consider the problem of calculating the optimal stationary mode of the gas transmission system. The maximum throughput of the gas transmission system was used as optimization criterion.

Effect of exhaust thermal parameters on optimal circuit layouts and optimal thermoelectric generator structure used in internal combustion engine

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Management: X, 2023
To improve the thermoelectric generator (TEG) power conversion efficiency when recovering automobile exhaust waste heat, it is important to design an optimal structure and circuit layouts on TEG responding to actual changed exhaust parameters.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Numerical Optimization of an Open-Ended Coaxial Slot Applicator for the Detection and Microwave Ablation of Tumors

open access: yesBiology, 2021
A multiobjective optimization method for a dual-mode microwave applicator is proposed. Dual-modality means that microwaves are used apart from the treatment, and also for the monitoring of the microwave ablation intervention. (1) The use of computational

Optimal control of Majorana zero modes

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2015
Braiding of Majorana zero modes provides a promising platform for quantum information processing, which is topologically protected against errors. Strictly speaking, however, the scheme relies on infinite braiding times as it utilizes the adiabatic limit.
