Advances in Transient Stability-Constrained Optimal Power Flow of Power Systems
Transient stability-constrained optimal power flow (TSCOPF) optimizes power flow while ensuring stability against potential contingencies. The main challenges faced by TSCOPF are the handling of transient constraints.

Geometry of Power Flows and Optimization in Distribution Networks
We investigate the geometry of injection regions and its relationship to optimization of power flows in tree networks. The injection region is the set of all vectors of bus power injections that satisfy the network and operation constraints.

Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Distributed Optimal Power Flow for Large-Scale Multi-Area Interconnected Power Systems
Distributed optimal power flow (OPF) of large-scale multi-area interconnected power systems is a challenging problem. This letter proposes a distributed OPF approach based on the modified decomposition-coordination interior point method (DCIPM).

Optimization of Optimal Power Flow Problems [PDF]
AbstractOptimal power flow problems arise in the context of the optimization and secure exploitation of electrical power in alternating current (AC) networks. This optimization problem evaluates the flow on each line and to ensure that they are under line thermal limits. To improve the reliability of the power supply, a secure network is necessary, i.e.

Promiscuous stimulation of HSP70 ATPase activity by parasite‐derived J‐domains
The malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum exports three highly homologous yet functionally divergent J‐domain proteins into human erythrocytes. Here, we show that J‐domains isolated from all three proteins effectively stimulate the ATPase activity of both endogenous host and exported parasite HSP70 chaperones.

Contingency-Constrained Optimal Power Flow Using Simplex-Based Chaotic-PSO Algorithm
This paper proposes solving contingency-constrained optimal power flow (CC-OPF) by a simplex-based chaotic particle swarm optimization (SCPSO). The associated objective of CC-OPF with the considered valve-point loading effects of generators is to ...

Stochastic Optimal Power Flow Based on Data-Driven Distributionally Robust Optimization
We propose a data-driven method to solve a stochastic optimal power flow (OPF) problem based on limited information about forecast error distributions. The objective is to determine power schedules for controllable devices in a power network to balance ...
