Wasserstein Regression, Forecasting, and Change‐Point Detection for Daily Traffic Flow Distributions

open access: yesStatistical Analysis and Data Mining: An ASA Data Science Journal, Volume 19, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT We develop a distribution‐valued framework for modeling, forecasting, and monitoring traffic flow counts by treating each day as a probability distribution summarized by jittered empirical quantile signatures. Inference is conducted under the 2‐Wasserstein geometry, which in one dimension is isometric to the L2(0,1)$$ {L}^2\left(0,1\right ...

Interpolation approximations based on Gauss–Lobatto–Legendre–Birkhoff quadrature

open access: yes, 2009
We derive in this paper the asymptotic estimates of the nodes and weights of the Gauss–Lobatto–Legendre–Birkhoff (GLLB) quadrature formula, and obtain optimal error estimates for the associated GLLB interpolation in Jacobi weighted Sobolev spaces.

Empirical Comparison of Win Ratio and Joint Frailty Models for Recurrent Event Endpoints With Applications in Oncology and Cardiology

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, Volume 45, Issue 13-14, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Composite endpoints that combine recurrent non‐fatal events with a terminal event are increasingly used in randomized clinical trials, yet conventional time‐to‐first event analyses may obscure clinically relevant information. We compared two statistical frameworks tailored to such endpoints: the joint frailty model (JFM) and the last‐event ...

Error Analysis for Semilinear Stochastic Subdiffusion with Integrated Fractional Gaussian Noise

open access: yesMathematics
We analyze the error estimates of a fully discrete scheme for solving a semilinear stochastic subdiffusion problem driven by integrated fractional Gaussian noise with a Hurst parameter H∈(0,1).

Fast Estimation and Valid Statistical Inference for Mixed‐Effect Location‐Scale Models Using Variational Inference

open access: yesStatistics in Medicine, Volume 45, Issue 13-14, June 2026.
ABSTRACT With the development of modern technology, richer and more intensive longitudinal data are available for researchers to study more complex model structures. The Mixed‐Effect Location‐Scale Model (MELS) is useful for modeling the variance components in such data.

Analysis of Multi-User-Based UAV System With Outdated CSI

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society
In this paper, we investigate the performance of multiple-input and multiple-output (MIMO) unmanned air vehicle (UAV) based multi-user communication systems over generalized Nakagami- $m$ fading channels subject to channel feedback delays. The impact of

Optimal quadrature formulas with derivatives in Sobolev space

open access: yes, 2014
In the present paper the problem of construction of optimal quadrature formulas in the sense of Sard in the space $L_2^{(m)}(0,1)$is considered. Here the quadrature sum consists of values of the integrand at nodes and values of the first and the third derivatives of the integrand at the end points of the integration interval.

Quadrature formulas obtained by variable transformation and the DE-rule

open access: yes, 1985
This paper gives a survey of the results known to date about quadrature formulas obtained by variable transformation followed by an application of the trapezoidal rule with an equal mesh size.

Grain Size Sorting and Steady Bars Formation in Straight Channels—Part 1: Laboratory Experiments

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Earth Surface, Volume 131, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract Surface grain size in gravel‐bed rivers is inherently heterogeneous, with marked spatial variability that remains challenging to predict, even in the presence of regular bedforms. This study investigates surface grain size variability on self‐formed alternate bars at the scale of a single bar unit, and is divided in two parts.

L1 Scheme for Semilinear Stochastic Subdiffusion with Integrated Fractional Gaussian Noise

open access: yesFractal and Fractional
This paper considers a numerical method for solving the stochastic semilinear subdiffusion equation which is driven by integrated fractional Gaussian noise and the Hurst parameter H∈(1/2,1).
