Network constrained optimal performance of DER and CHP based micro-grids within an integrated active-reactive and heat powers scheduling

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2021
Nowadays, different types of dispatchable and non-dispatchable distributed energy resource (DER) units, combined heat and power (CHP) plants as well as heat only units are integrated into a micro-grid (MG) platform. These facilities can help MG operators

Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch Considering Power Loss of Transformer [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2015 International Forum on Energy, Environment Science and Materials, 2015
A large proportion of power loss in distribution system is from transformer, which is not considered in the traditional Distribution network Reactive Power Optimization (DRPO). This paper proposes a DRPO model considering the power loss of transformer.

Patterns of Postictal Abnormalities in Relation to Status Epilepticus in Adults

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Abnormalities on peri‐ictal diffusion‐weighted magnetic resonance imaging (DWI‐PMAs) are well‐established for patients with status epilepticus (SE), but knowledge on patterns of DWI‐PMAs and their prognostic impact is sparse. Methods This systematic review and individual participant data meta‐analysis included observational studies ...

Decentralized Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch of Optimally Partitioned Distribution Networks

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
This paper proposes a two-stage decentralized optimal reactive power dispatch (D-ORPD) framework, which considers the network partitioning influence in distributed optimization.

Reduction of Oxide Inclusions During the High‐Frequency Welding of Steel via a Nonthermal Ar/H2 Plasma Jet

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐frequency (HF) welding of steel is limited by oxide inclusions that degrade weld quality. This study demonstrates, for the first time, the integration of a nonthermal Ar/H2 dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) plasma jet into HF welding. Local plasma treatment provides effective shielding and in‐situ oxide reduction, resulting in markedly fewer and ...

Solution of optimal reactive power dispatch with FACTS devices: A survey

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2020
With the development of urban and rural infrastructure, the power system is enforced to operate nearly at its full capacity which result in heavily stressed power grid operation, greater loss, peak generation, security threat and instability of the ...

Solving the Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch Problem through a Python-DIgSILENT Interface

open access: yesComputation, 2022
The Optimal Reactive Power Dispatch (ORPD) problem consists of finding the optimal settings of reactive power resources within a network, usually with the aim of minimizing active power losses.

Handbook of Establishing and Maintaining Oxygen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents a practical framework for creating oxygen‐free atmospheres at ambient pressure using silane‐doped inert gases. The results show that ultra‐low oxygen levels and strongly reduced water content can be achieved through controlled silane dosing, drying systems, and sensor monitoring.
